frankie, this isn't a flame at all, so don't take it as one...

N'Sync, The Backdoor Boys, and Brittney Spears are all immensely popular, but they're all garbage. We all know this. To someone like myself, who has been listening to electronic dance music since '81 or so, Trance is considered crap. That's not to say that all of it is, I'll give it another chance, but generally speaking it seems to lack artistic content. Kinda like comparing The Roots or Common Sense to Master P and Puff Daddy. The former are about creativity and innovation, the latter make cookie-cutter, talentless songs. From what I understand, there's a lot more bad Trance than there is good.

Judge Jules is pretty popular from what I understand, but does he make more than Juan Atkins or Derrick May? I can't say anything though... I'm still getting only $200-500 US for a gig.

yeah that was a sound post, its just peoples tastes, each person prolly likes something different.

What no one likes is people like EXOR and STU comming in here saying it is shit and everyone who likes it is gay, which is basically what they have said. They just do it to piss people off though. Anyway, have to say, good trance isnt any of this shit that you hear on the radio or in the top 10, to find good stuff its best to listen to DJ sessions, and radio 1 does good sessions. friday night is the essential selection where all the good brand new type of trancey music comes out.

One of these days I'll have to come out to the UK. I'm trying to get booked anywhere I can over there. That's one thing I envy about you guys across the pond; you get good dance music played on the radio, we don't.

Good DJs make or break a club/night - I've been in Gatecrasher and watched the crowd mood change with every DJ, the shite practically clearing the dance floors, the good refilling them.

Watching Jeremy Healy wind up the crowd up one night was fucking mad....the bloke's a class A abusing nut nut

i suggest you look into the pixies, mp3 of em are rare but worth the search

Trance yep all well and good it's the stuff played on the main floor of most clubs. Paul van Dyk is a damn good DJ as is Oakenfold.

But DO YOU WANT TRANCE WITH A TWIST then check out the awesome Timo Maas

Homelands was trance, with Sasha and Diggers rocking it and Ferry Corstan blowing the Slinky tent apart!

There are a lot of very shite bands out there as well. Where don't you get agro, proper clubs, awesome.

Worst crowd I've ever seen Ash concert were indie "wanker" kids were out to prove themselves rather than the music. As one of the record labels I used to know - UNITY.

Pete Tong played a good set at Homelands.
