Need to find an Excel and Word training course for my GF. Got a couple of specifics so im having real trouble finding anything :(

Needs to be a beginner or intermediate course
Needs to be usable offline
Needs to be free

I know quite a bit about both programs but im not a teacher, so would rather use a free course :)

Dont think Dummies would go down to well.

I still use dummies books to get a good grounding on things I know nothing about, they are a good recource, but with an unfortunate name. :p

If you live in the UK most community centres run this sort of thing one night a week. An instructor (usually just an advanced user) will take them through the basics of each office application as well as the basics of using a computer.

My mum went with her neighbour, surprisingly it actually helped a lot she's now into e-mail, photo manipulation and making an obscenely large MP3 collection thanks to bit-torrent lol.

she wouldn't even switch it on before that course.

depends on your community... central london no. My little town in the north west, then yes. Librarys for example usually run free events as part of a council event or so...

TBG used to offer free courses goverment funded you have to fill out a form i think saying it is to help you find work or find better work. Dose not have prices beside there but if there is one local might be worth giving them a call.

My local college runs evening classes on word, excel etc. Basic course is free (really is basic tho) and "advanced" is about £30 iirc
