depends how far you book in advance... the c tickets are the really advanced ones etc. Its a shit system tbh... total rip off... if you wanted to go from newcastle to london on the same day it will cost you £100 but if you booked 3 weeks in advance its like £30.

They only have a limited amount of each ticket... so usually the c tickets go first... then the b... then the a until you get a open single which will be like a ticket on the day. If they can charge £30 in advance why cant they charge £30 on the day? its a bag of shit.

If you're flying within the UK, you just need photo ID such as a driving licence photocard.

I flew to Edinburgh and back last week from Manchester, cost £60 all in. The train fare on the day was £110 which really takes the piss.

Yep

You can even buy a real idea for about 12 quid, works for me when I fly to the Isle of Mann :)

Passports take too long to go back

Plus with an id card its easier to replace, unlike a passport which can easily get lost on a drunken night out.

I know id rather be carrying an id card that my passport, passports can be easily used to let Achmed and all his terrorist friends into this country on it!

I have both btw, always have id card in wallet

But I'm confused...why would you want to restrict your life to the UK? There are so many places out there to explore; don't you want to go abroad?!

Why would you take passport on a night out? Surely you'd just take your drivers license.

I dont drive?

And yes, I have a passport that works, having an ID card helps though when you just want to fly around the UK

Ahh right, sorry from what you said it sounded like you don't have a passport at all.

Driving is, in my opinion, a near-requirement of life these days. Perhaps you don't drive for health/monetary/political reasons, but without exception, everyone I know who didn't learn to drive at school/uni is now regretting it!

Cant afford the lessons..
And If I did get a license, I can no way afford the insurance for it.

It's not about having a car though, it's about being able to drive; instant boost to your CV (well, an instant downer to your CV if you can't drive!)

Anyway, pretty much off the off topic now!
