I wouldn't. All sorts of things can get picked up by the tornado.. and getting hit at those kinds of speeds is gunna kill you. I'd just HATE to be killed by like.. an out of control chicken or something. People at the funeral wouldn't stop laughing.

And yes - tornado chasing is one of my dreams - hopefully something i'll do sometime in the future (by then, they may even be in england at a common rate :d).

based on area, there are more tornadoes in the UK than the US, so they are more common here already!
just they are small and dont cause much damage.

wont likely get massive ones here, becuase of the size of the US. the mid west (kansas etc) USA (tornado alley) has cold dry air streaming over the rockies, whilst the gulf of mexico produces warm air, so you get massive cumulonimbus clouds, and therefore bigger chance of massive tornadoes.
