Latest info: Accident happened at 17:45 today. His jet-car overturned at either 208 or 280 Mph (not sure which one) at an airfield and sustained serious injuries.

What a bitch, I love Richard Hammond, especially on Brainiac :<

I hope he gets well soon, the stuff he does with Clarkson is some of the funniest Ive seen on the BBc for a long time

Get well soon!

Top Gear Axed ? Do me a favour ! ! ! ! You might as well say they're gonna ban The 10 o Clock News cos a journalist in a war zone got shot.

The Stig drives them mostly around the track and sometimes does other things. I must say I thought that The Stig would be the choice for what happened.

Richard Hammond is a fantastic presenter and I am thankful his condition is now Stable. Quentin Wilson is right. He brings a lot of energy to Top Gear, as well as Brainiac and even the late afternoon programme he did for ITV. I was shocked to the core when I heard as he is my favourite presenter.

hope hes ok. however, assuming he is, there is a long gap between "not dying" and being able / wanting to go back and do a TV program about driving ;) he may not be able or want to do Top Gear again, but such is life :(

I'm pretty sure his wife n kids won't want him to go back to driving cars @ 300mph. Hammond is a car addict - he'll defo want to go back.

Blow-up, Crush, Incinerate, Disintegrate... I don't think the way matters really, aslong as the caravan is broken afterwards :p

Nope, Top Gear delivers alot of bang for the buck both here and in America as well as in other countries. The show will go on regardless because it delivers a certain audience to the BBC that none of the other channels are picking up. It would be a great shame if he couldn't do the show again though, the guy is a diamond and is the star of that show imo.

Get well soon Hamster!

(For those who didn't know)

He was doing 280MPH Trying to break the land speed record in the 'Vampire' (IIRC that was the cars name) - Was on the last run (while recording for Top Gear) - Not completely sure what went wrong with the car but that's not the issue.

Hope he gets better tbh, Top Gear owns, Brainac owns... Would be sucky if he stopped. (We all know he won't tbh)

EDIT: Just read the link above. So, yeah: Above is true.
