Top 5 Sci-fi movies that never quite made it..

All classics in my eyes, compared to pap like the recent WoTW, Men in Black..heck they dont make like they used to Think the only good thing ive watched recently was "The Triange"

did i miss any forgotten sci-fi classics ? give us your list !

Solyaris - fantastic and almost unknown Russian sci-fi film.
Darkman - Liam Neeson = teh win
Brazil - Terry Gilliam also = teh win

My favourite sc-fi film is probably The Fifth Element. Milla Jovovitch! Gary Oldman! Bruce Willis with shoes!

Agree with Chretien... Fifth Element is teh win. Cool fact about it is that Luc Besson designed (and described in great detail) the whole futuristic world in which the movie takes place when he was a bored teenager...

Yeah, i'd have to agree with The Fifth Element there also, true classic i absolutely love it, not only for Milla no, but for the class acting by Gary Oldman and Bruce Willis, and to see Chris Tucker scream like a little girl for once when a gun is fired

Others i'd add to that would be Blade Runner, Starship Troopers and Equillibrium, all brilliant movies in their own right

Also I have to agree about Dark City, its a really good film, and I wich I had a copy of it. =(

battle beyond the stars.. just how many times was that movies space scenes cut up and reused in junk like ice pirates? at least 4 films heh

silent running - eco-sci fi classic

5th element i can take or leave.. chris tucker is a bit over the top

chronicles of riddick i liked also.. kill me with that.. cup!

dune was to arty farty for me

yay my favourite 5 scifi movies are these:

frequency - dennis quaid and jim cava???? not space sci fi but superb

stargate - classic scifi and the reason for samantha carter in sg1, gotta be a good thing.

darkman - just for the scenes with the nail gun up in the unbuilt skyscraper.

13th floor - kept seeing this in the video store, so hired it and thought ...nice twist

and finally

star trek the wrath of khan.....come on its the best of the bunch and Spock gets killed best part of it....although i would say first contact was pretty good for a star trek movie.

i've seen some real bad scifi and sci fantasy but these are my favorites.

for films with a game link i gonna have to say i have a new favourite - silent hill...awesome film.....and somewhat, in places disturbing. Although i think i have issues as i found the nurses in the film someway arousing....if you seen u will know. as i wish the nurses in the hospital i work in had figures like that, and uniforms too....

oh another few underated sci fi .......zaragoz or summat like that with sean connery, and millenium with kris kristofferson

Pitch Black = was kinda cult before it got mainstream

Those are 4 amazing films! I had forgoten about Event Horizon <slaps self> parts of that film actually scared me, it was really good, and Sam Neil is wicked in it, especally the part when he gouges out his own eyes. =P

The Abyss is very good.
Sphere was decent as well aye.
Watched Doom the other night - was expecting it to be awful and it wasnt that bad... better than a lot of game/film genre but still nothing special I guess..
