As for the twice as many votes, I don't agree. Who's to say people would vote for both films? I reckon peeps would choose one of them and use the other choices for their other favourites...

I'd imagine people were asked to list their personal top 10's or whatever, then films were scored on the position in said top 10, so the film (or group of films where sequels are concerned) with the most overall points would be the victor...

Yeah, I guess Pulp Fiction is the biggest example - it's great to see movies make it big, and get recognised for it, because of it's dialogue / actor's abilities / director's genious, rather than because of how much money was spent building the set! (f'kin Harry Potter!!!)

I think res. dogs was better than pulp fiction. although I like pulp as well.
for me the worse movie I've ever seen has to be a toss up between flinstones and Batman 4.
They are the only movies so far which made me want to walk out of a cinema.

(In an ideal world you should get your money back if you didn't enjoy the movie. But then in an ideal world, you'll probably watch ideal movies and never get bored.)

Interestingly, Empire magazine did a very similar poll about 3 months ago, but without the lumping of the film and its sequel together. The Empire Strikes Back came top, Star Wars came second, The Godfather Part II came third (iirc) and The Godfather came about 5th or 6th. So if anything, lumping them together was merely a response to the number of votes people made for them, to ensure they didn't totally dominate the top 10.

As for Alien/Aliens... personally I prefer Aliens, but I can see why Alien is more deserving of a spot in the list.
