Lego Star Wars for PS2, brilliant game, kids love it, so much that they got a big scratch on the disk and now it wont get past the cut scenes in the Mos Espa Pod Race.
Last night, in desperation, I got some toothpaste and rubbed off the scratch, but due to inconsistances of scale, i.e. a 0.5mm scratch versus a Braun replaceable electric toothbrush head, I sat there looking at the 10p sized blotch on the disk and thought "that's not going to work" and wondered if the kids could wait until platnium release for a replacement.
But Lo ! The Pod Race cut scene worked ! But it failed instead at the next one.
Back to the Tescos 6+ Kids non-minty special treatment, the blotch inflates to about £2 coin size, I am considering using Sensodyne as a last resort, the temptation to floss it as well is resisted.
Happy Happy Joy Joy, kids get past Mos Espa, unlock Darths Sideous and Maul, everyone is at peace once more.
So there you have it - toothpaste, gets you to the next level, keeps the kids quiet and makes your smile bright as well.
