My opinion of it comes from being an experienced PC FPS'er. Most of these console FPS games are shit, just the console guys haven't really experienced anything else.

Rash generalisation in all honesty.

I've played scores of PC based FPS's starting with wolfenstein3D and I still enjoyed it. A short demo won't do much for you when the overall game has to be experienced.

Heh you're not the only one to have played PC FPS games I'm sure most people started off playing them, I used to be big time into PC spent years playing QW CTF but it's nice to not have to worry about pc specs and drivers though - I would prefer having a kb/mouse to use with console fps though.

That's why I mostly play console games now. I don't like spending my money on £350 gfx cards anymore :)

Also, I think gamers over here are getting like American gamers, where as long as it has guns and things you can kill, it's good.

Most people who own a console own a PC and im betting most of those people have played BF2/FC etc etc.

It just gets old forking out £300+ on upgrades for a new card every year and if you want to have the best rig then you have to fork out that cash every year ;/

PC gaming is going downhill has been for quite sometime now the PC gets about 3 omg games each year if its lucky so it doesn't justify the huge spendage on upgrades.

MMOS/RTS is the PCS strength atm but with AOC coming to the 360 and if its pulled off well instead of a dumbed down hack and slash it will be interesting to see what other MMO companies start making for the 360.

EA with Warhammer surely has to be looking at this option.

I have to say that FPS games I will 99% of the time choose to play on the PC if the option is there. I think there are some games out there where the PC version is inferior, and I believe the GRAW series and R6 vegas are two of these? I dunno, I have GRAW 2 on PC and I find it fairly dull! I wonder if its worth bothering with the ps3 version of R6 vegas for £30, when it can be had on PC for like £4-6 2nd hand or £8 new.

hmm, i really cant decide between either getting a 360 elite of PS3. Advantages of a 360 are, loads of my m8s have them so we can swap games etc. And secondly tere quite alot cheaper.

Advantages of getting a PS3 are, i wopuld be the only person i know with one, the blue-ray ofcourse. Disadvantes tho ofc is the price. Wont get one til the first price drop anyway.

Either way im gonna have to buy a new TV with it too 1080p display as my 14inch protable really wont cut the mustard i dont think, and the cheapest flat screen ive found so far is like £700 :<.

Cheap 1080p TV's are hard to find, unless you go for a rebadged no-namer. 720p Tv's are cheap as chips though.

I have a 360 and a ps3, the only thing that the 360 does much better than the ps3 is the controller. The six-axis is shite, it is too light and small and hurts my hands after about 30 minutes of use. This means that when titles are out for both machines, I will more than likely get the 360 version.

I have a Toshiba 32" WLT68, which is obviously 720p. 37" would prolly be the max i'd go in my living room, but i'm more than happy with 32". I've seen 37" 1080p's going for around the £600-650 mark though in costco...

Anyway, the ps3 looks awaesome on my tv. Love it. It doesn't seem quite as good online just now due to the lack of ease of communication, but for single player its awesome. Sounds like you'd be happier with a 360 tho lit..

LittleBigPlanet will be the decider for many people and I'm betting it will shift many PS3's.
Eurogamer have 3 videos of it in action here

Watch the full length 17minute vid to get an insight into it.
Disclaimer. I work at Sony and am therefore open to lying bastard accusations, but this is still the most exciting game on my personal horizon for any platform.

Don't get me wrong, I love LittleBigPlanet and I'm more excited about just fucking around with 3 mates making stupid levels than anything else due for any console. The problem is, I don't see how it appeals to the mainstream/casual crowd. Will they understand it from just reading the back of the box?

It'll push some hardware, but enough to make a huge difference?

LittleBigPlanet looks very cool.. but, to be honest, I think I'd just get bored.. there's only so much creativity you can have without needing new ideas from somewhere.. and I'm not entirely sure I could be bothered :z

I don't have the time to put a lot of time into a game like that..

If they make it easy to pick up and play, so mates can get the hang of it easily and the idea of building a level appeals to them, then it has a chance with me, but otherwise I'm not all that bothered :S

I plan on getting completely and utterly sucked into playing Eye of Judgement upon it's release ( And my subsequent purchase of my very own PS3 ;) )

LittleBigPlanet looks fantastic and, once coupled with the upcoming home, will be a joy to play I'm sure.

Ted, if you know anyone in the beta department, kick their ass. I'm on the books, but have yet to receive any discs and the beta mail address simply bounces back :(

altho little big planet looks uber, home seems intresting and mgs3 and killzone look gob smacking. sony needs to get God of War 3 out. nothing like unleasing violent death with a sharp bladed coupled with nifty back flip. both god of war games are look and play well on ps2 on ps3 it could be some much more

way too early for God of War 3. #2 isn't even greatest hits/platinum yet, and Chains of Olympus is coming.

I'd say '09 is the earliest we could expect it.
