Finally got myself a TomTom Go (new edition). Never had a sat nav before but now I won't get lost on the 1 journey I ever do (to my sons nursery and back). With me living in Stoke there is 174 speed cameras between my house and the nursery roughly 2 miles away. I got the camera software free with the unit and I installed it. It gives the locations of the cameras but it is giving me the incorrect speed for that location, so I am in a 40mph zone the TomTom warns me of the camera but tells me its a 30mph zone. This is most annoying but at least I know what the limit is round by me, will piss me right off (and other drivers) when I am driving in an area I don't know.

I have contacted TomTom and their advice was to reinstall the camera database, this did shag all good and didn't change anything.

Its a specialist thing I know but it is worth asking you guys if you have any idea on this problem.

TIA.

You could try editing the speed camera database yourself. I dont have a Tom Tom, but I had a look in my Garmin speed camera database - it had simple text - GPS, positions speeds and some other info.

/edit...infact if you look inside garmin's folder, its all pretty uncomplicated. The graphics are jpgs, etc. If you wanted, you could create coordinates for your m8s houses, brothels, whatever, and have a custom picture flash up when you are nearby.
