Cant rememer I wrote anything against RvR gameplay, so ill just leave it there. And I cant speak for other "roleplayers" but ive never had problems with RvR oriented guilds as Ive been in one.

Why is this such a problem?

We face a lot of criticism for the way we play the game. If you are interested in playing the game like we do, then feel free to apply to join us or a similar guild.

Our guild is our number one priority. We do not need to worry about an alliance or other guilds in Albion. Our guild can enjoy the game the way we want it without getting involved with anyone else.

isnt the point in guilds exactly that - to communicate INTERNALY and to be more organised? if not then there is no point in guilds. its like saying business should communicate with every other business to share their profit and loss reports :sleeping:

And by that i dont think he means that he have something in particular towards roleplayers tbh. (feel free to correct me Derric) :)

If you read the original threadstarters post, you clearly sense that he despises the RvRguilds and even try to make a silly attempt to cover it over, and you would be equally pissed off if Walker for instance made a similar post but about roleplayers. I know I would if I was into roleplaying. Look at the bigger picture and you'll see that a dickhead started the thread and stirred up some shit, blame him for beeing the asshole and noone else imo.

just my thoughts..... as usual :)

People choose a guild to suit their gameplay and what they want from the game just because its RvR and differs from your game objectives doesnt mean its wrong. people are too quick to point the finger and blame the RvR guilds just because of differing goals and everyone has done it.

Take the time to sit back and see what they are doing and how they enjoy the game and maybe u will understand why they do it. After all the games for fun.

Everyone puts their own guild first and why not guilds area team and a group of online/rl m8s out to have fun.

As for posting the thread to find out without falming maybe u should have asked the guilds concerned on internal forums or in game rather than on a public forum.

Thats just my opinion though.

it's strange how much people talk/whine/whatever over the so called "uberguilds" and yet so many people are begging to join?



as far as affording is concerned, i think daoc is one of the cheapest hobbies ever

compare it to sports where you need equipment with sometimes outrageous prices, so called social life where you spend the monthly fee and over on a single friday night, etc

Not strange at all klav, it's envy pure and simple. And Redi clearly has some sort of inferiority complex about people who actually earn RPs and therefore feels the need to make foolish posts like this one.
If you offered him a place in an RvR guild he'd turn it down to have the "moral high-ground" as he sees it, but inside he'd hate himself for missing out on it. Quite sad really.

I play RVR mostly because I jusdge my success in life by my RP total.

Is that what you are wanting to hear?



Well..anotehr view also might be that DAOC PvE is absolute shit(to borrow a phrase fromDr. Evil)

Ther ei sno way I can really improve my character in any form of PVE (unless iI go on multiple hour long...identical Sidi raids).

A large part of a MMORPG..***IMO*** is about improving and advancing your character. IMO that s what keeps you drawn to these games over standard games.

The only way my character improces in this game...thansk to stunning innovation onthe part of Mythic (cough) is to RVR and gain RPS...thus advancing my character with extra skills.



So in a nutshell.

DAOC = Shit PVE and character skill system.


PVP = Sometimes good fun...sometimes annoying....but its a nice way of advancing your character once you hit 50 and have SC armour(who the hell thought SC up lol).

Nothign remotely interestsme in terms of loot now..im maxed out on every skill possible(as im sur emany players are).


While I understand Roleplayers enjoy what they do...Its no my cup of tea,

I do however think a RP section of a sever adds falvour to a server on any MMORPG...and in prefer a RP over some LeET kid any day tbh.


What was I talking about? No idea..right..SWG beta.....my mineral extractor has just dug up 2105 Aluminium whiole I was running round Emain tonight. Whats more I didnt have kids on irc moaning about anythign and everythign in Emain.

I only joined Eclipse for the rps tbh

The ppl in Eclipse are horrible and I dont like them but it fills my HUGE ego so I live with it.

(the above is not true duh)

I started this game to play RvR, why bother paying 6 quid a month to play vs the computer if I wanted to do that I'd get BG out and play that.

EACH TO THEIR OWN if you can't handle that then mebbe you should take a look at yourself before commenting on other people and how they play the game?

I play the game to rvr, when i dinged 50 with my first char and got my sc set, i could not find anything to do in PvE after dinging 50 so i got addicted to rvr, then the paladin thing came and armsmen wasnt needed in rvr anymore, i undestood that myself. And levelled my cleric to 50. My armsman is still good for farming cash though :p

Anyways all respect to Roleplaying guilds, i used to roleplay alot myself not ingame, but in RL etc.

There's need to be room for all kinds of guilds. But the most of what you're writing must be something you wrote because you were bored/envious.

for me rvr is a very nice place becouse after playing years and years against ki i really enjoy to face some real peopel

for me ki sucks big time after 3 tries you know how the ki would react in rvr you never know

thats why i played / play ut and daoc for a loooong time

i dont install any game on my pc that isnt multiplayabel

but their is a risk with more playtime = better avatar
in 5-10 years it will be a problem for many peeps
daoc is good and funny but imagine what will be in 10 years
your avatar will steal a huge time of your life becouse "the world" will be nearly perfect
