Wizard... nuking stuff and spamming pbae (occasional roots), queue on.

Sorcerer... LOADSA spells, switching between diff ones all the time, queue off.

Buffbot... Same buffs all the time, queue on

Not played my eld rvr since before christmas, but on my druid i leave it on mostly because like novamir said you couldn't possibly cast 2 spells in a row faster than spell queue can do it. I just make sure not to pick the next spell i want to cast till the last one has almost finished casting giving me the max time to change my mind if something unexpected happens. (spot tank charging at me so switch to slap a quick root on him before casting next heal for example.

Hit root - it'll override the queued nuke and you'll root instead.

I leave it on.

It's cool for a mana-bomb I suppose.

It sucks for people with more spells they need to use quickly in succession imo.

I always turn it off on my druid, friar and theurgist.

But that's just me
