Heres a plan

Anyone sick of getting sniped by archers take along a friendly paladin with a shield to guard you

The life of a minstrel levelling is not as easy as some of you seem to make out. Make a minstrel, get it to lvl 35+ and you just TRY going AFK playing powersong

Well, try being a TANK and go afk while playing.... FUCK ALL
And with my mighty cleric-alt I have grouped with minstrels. They do two, maybe three things in combat: Mezz mobs (maybe), SITTING and playing that damn powersong, and blasting off those damn dd's when ever they recharge.
You are not supposed to group with ppl, and then go AFK while still filling your main purpose.
Oh, yeah, almost forgot that NOONE wants/needs a minstrel in a group *dripping with sarcasm*

But I guess you should be able to turn on auto-assist/auto-dd/powersong on, now THAT would be fair

i have never once gone afk while lvling my minstrl.. well, i did once.. but that was cos i said to the group...

i have to go for 30 mins i can either stay here and play manna or log of its up to you guys, and they wanted me to play manna...


I was a little bit pissed of with archers when i started this thread.. but i still think they are to powerfull

Some nights i go to ygdra or crouachan.
I solo around 30-60 hibs/mids cons grey-yellow.
They dont stand a chance most of the time and im rarely in much danger.

Yes, scouts deserve to be nerfed.
But u see.... I have 41 base stealth.... had i known See Hidden would enter the game, I would have a way different spec than i do.
When SH comes, we dont get respec. A scout with 41 stealth is a total gimp until respec.
And as for the battlescout: sure, gimme the option to respec to a highlander scout and its viable, but thats not gonna happen.

Basically:
They have altered the scout entirely, screwing me over bigtime. Thats what the whine is a bout.
That and the magnitude of the nerf. Nerf me a bit, dont make me as useless in rvr as i am in pve.

ah, completly agree with you there, i feel sorry for ya putting all those points into stealth, hence why i may take my minstrel to 29 stalth 39 weapons rather then the other way round...

Yeah, if hes double or more your lvl I would say that was fair, too bad you aint

Well, the scout carries a longbow, and this game, Dark age of Camelot, seems to look alot like the Dark age. The welsh longbowmen oneshotted people there, imagine that. It's probably a bitch to see a fingerthick toothpick pointing out of your chest. Unfair or not.

The scout is the hardest hitting archer in the game, and the one with no self buffs, no pet, and no speed buff.

Take away stealth and what has the scout got left? Bow and shield, ah, shield doesn't work 97% of the time in rvr(statistically). Slam works, but since you can't hide after you have been attacked what happens? If someone manages to engage with you in melee, you'll lose. Hot knife through butter comes to mind. A scout NEEDS to do damage from long range to be able to win. Coward or not.

In my opinion. see hidden is a needed addition to the assassins. BUT it needs to be tweaked, and if you wanted to even out the see hidden ability a bit, you would take it away as a passive ability, or you would limit it's range. My opinion anyway. Though I feel Mythic took a wrong turn somewhere in the making of the classes.

well id have to say i can easily take out and even con archer, last time we got nolbypride in a corner and he went for me, blocked 90% of his hits without engage (he using spear) and my dmg output with my epic weap is very good for my lvl so we are pretty strong in melee.
but bow remains main weap so it truly al comes to distance

I am only referring to statistics being made on the blockrate of the shield, there has been made statistics on this and the number they came up with against STYLED attacks was 3-6% blockrate in rvr with equal lvl (50), high quality weapons and shields. If I can find the link again I will post it.

Since when this thread was meant as a comparison between minstrel and scout???

I personally have nothing against archers (tho i do think their damage output should be reduced a little in pvp ;p) and i am backing them up regarding see hidden

I do level faster than scouts and yes, my life in group is quite easy. But this comes with the territory ..if scouts could bring nicer abbilities to group i bet minstrels will be forgoten.

Thats why i always enjoy having a scout in my tree/DM sessions, knowing the difficulties they face xping. i hope i have some1 to back me up here ..;D

Minstrels are not enemies of scouts
