Ok.. reformated my friends pc, got the latest driver for his TNT2 gfx card, installed daoc and patched it up.

DAoC loads up to char select screen. When you select a character the image of your char dosnt show.
You click play, it has the loading bar, when its finished and the ingame graphics should show, it just goes block and gives renderation creation failed...

Any help? ;)

Would I need directx 9? Since its not a dx9 gfx card and hes just using classic client..

For classic client I dont think you need dx 9, no.

Or at least you didnt used to.


Depending on the version of windows being used you coule be ona pre 7 version which would cause problems with Classic for sure though.

you will need at least direct x 8 for classic get 9 anyway it will help but also a better gfx card would be my best advice

it wont let you do much more than office .

If you havnt anything usefull to say don't post in tech help, thanks.

The gfx card is not good true, but it does run daoc and has run it in the past. :)

TOA requires that DX9 is installed - doesnt matter what gfx card you use.

Classic/SI i think you need DX8.1, but dont quote me on that.
