im just gonna throw it all in the whoo-ha here now.

i say dont bother with forum titles for people to spam their way up to (like the old Deity 'n earther's from ye olden forum)

they should be handed out only on a special basis, like the unique titles.. just have the likes of "regulars" and "lurkers" as titles for everybody else.

and you have to earn it?

btw, anybody fiddled about with the reputation stuff yet?

You have a little box with a tick and a cross below your name. People can comment, and approve/disapprove, on your posts (I just tried it on yours ).

Maybe a high disapproval rating triggers a DoS attack or something?

EDIT: Clicking on your own icon gives you your approval rating.

I did the same on td's I was expecting a page to appear. Something along the lines of 34.6% of people approved of tdc's posts. But nothing. :/

A popup appears where one can approve/disapprove (and add a comment)... but that aside, not much else seems to happen.

I presume the reputation rating goes up and down relative to the amount of positive/negative comments you get.

I think the max rating is 10. But then, I could be wrong

pfft, it says I have to 'spread some reputation around' before i can comment on yours again. I Have no idea what that means, but wij sounds just the man for that job.
