Thought I may as well post this here and warn others. I completed Titan Quest : Immortal Throne a couple of minutes ago. Very very disappointed It took me 6 hours on normal mode with my level 44 defense/nature character, the story was weak from start to finish and the game forces you to do quite a bit of backtracking as well. There is nowhere near the claimed 30 hours of content, it is 6-7 hours with 3 difficulty levels. Totally underwhelmed by the whole thing, very much a an anti-climax after the original game. I really can't face playing the next 2 difficulty levels just for exp and better loot, the story is so bland that once was more than enough, twice more and I would be reaching for the cyanide.

So, consider yourselves warned! ;)

hardly. level 40 Dream/Stormcaller. tanked the last boss solo without using a healthpot xD

Downloading a game is still shit, so no matter how hard you try, you will always suck.

If you mean one of the people who keeps the game industry open so more cheap-assed fags can download them illegally - then yes.

you fag bugz, why should i pay for a game i most possibly play once and then have it rot in my shelf for years without use?

I refuse to be judged with e-vigilantes :) Downloading games is wrong, true enough. How many wrong things have you done today? Ever watched a clip from a copyrighted show on youtube? I'll just bet you have :) Sadly that makes you as bad as me. Anything else is just haggling over the price.

Why should I pay for a movie i'll only be allowed to watch once.
Why pay for a meal i'll probably only eat once.

If it's crap enough to not pay for it, then don't play it in the first place.

That said, I think there's far too many companies out there making games that they shouldn't be. If your going to make a game in a genre, at least make sure it's not worse than the other 7 you could buy for the same price, then whine at how there's no money in the industry.

sorry we all cant be a rich faggot bitch like you bugz.

I'm not a rich ass faggot :(

My parents probably earn something around ~30k (give or take) a year.

I just respect the games industry, the idea that we all have to earn a living and I don't respect silly arguements towards 'not paying for an item that LEGALLY you should pay for.'

Hmm is it to download a few songs off an album?

If I like those songs, I will legally buy the cd. If they are shit, I will keep my £15

lmao.

You're all a bunch of cheap ass fags!

Mommy doesn't pay for my video games. Even if i throw a temper tantrum. I hope you can swear on your life that you've never watched a pirated movie, or snuck into a cinema, or done anything even remotely illegal Bugz. Because if you have, you lose all judging rights, and you're just a spoiled kid on a forum kicking up a fuss :)

FYI, it was only last weekend my gf offered to download Number 23 and we'd watch it. Instead I suggested we go to the cinema and watch it (even if it was the most expensive in my area - £5 a ticket Oo).

That said, I am more independant now than you'll ever be mate. I manage to juggle everything with my own money, and considering I have a gf, a whole host of bdays etc. to buy for and the general affairs of myself, that is a very impressive feat. I haven't had a payout from my parents since about 1 and a half years ago and spoilt is defiently not a way to describe me. If you want to be spoilt, come to my school - else don't assume cause you're just making a bigger ass out of yourself :(

But to be honest, from a selfish so and so whos happy to put other people's livelihoods at jepardy, I can't say I expect much :)

@Thad - that I can somewhat tolerate since music you listen to over and over and so a good rate tune is something you will usually download to base a judging on and then buy the album (partly because album covers rock). Then again, ITunes kind of deals with that ^^

maybe when you actually have to pay your own way in life, you'll understand that a large percentage of working people don't have the disposable income for most entertainment 'stuff' -which is all ridiculously over-priced to some degree.

Being in a public place makes it all the more dangerous though! :worthy:

Last couple of games I've purchased have been from Ebay or cheap sites like Play.com.

Besides, wait a month or two and prices for games usually drop to £19.99 and even on my budget, once every couple of months that is affordable.

You didn't answer my question bugz, have you ever done anything illegal? Having a fridge in your bedroom does not make you independant I'm afraid. 3 months ago you were a spoiled little brat wanting to lock himself in his room and cry because he couldn't fiddle around with his gf at Christmas. Now suddenly you're an independant pillar of the community? :) You'll understand how we as a forum population might find it difficult to swallow warm bullshit :p

May I be the first to bow down to your shining example of righteousness in paying for a movie ticket. While I have to confess I have NO idea what you are talking about when you say "But to be honest, from a cheating lil shit whos happy to put other people's livelihoods at jepardy by being a selfish twit, I can't say I expect much" I appreciate that it must be hard for you to come on to a forum and act like a boyscout when in reality you're nowhere near as good as you like to think you are :)

Kudos on the double standards btw. How is music different to a video game when it comes to piracy?

nevermind. i can tell from your other post that the real troubles of life are far beyond your years anyway. if you think it's such a big feat to 'juggle your money' between a gf and some birthdays - try holding down a job, a home, a kid, etc. etc. like the rest of the adult world.

i seriously am not having a dig, and i completely understand your naivety as it is perfectly normal for someone your age - but it is massively patronising to talk the way you are about independence when you have all your food, bills and other living costs paid for you.

The extent of which I've been bad in this context is probably watching Simpsons episodes online but since we pay for our TV License and Channel 4 are soon to introduce an online system it's not in the same context.

Never claimed to be an independant pillar of the community. Ololo, you tried to make a funny. Sorry -> total failure.

I guess intelligence wasn't studied at school :(. Each time you download a game from the internet illegally, the developers get nothing. If you tell your friends / pass the illegal game on etc., the developers sitll get nothing. What if the guy that has developed your game happens to have a family to provide for? Essentially you're taking money out of his companies profits. That is selfish.

It is essentially e-theft. The same as running into a shop, grabbing some clothes and then running off. After being caught by the police, you then release the line of 'but i'm not going to use them for the rest of my life, so why should I have to pay for them!!'

NikonL said:

It isn't double standards as I never condoned the use of downloading music illegally. I simply said i'm more tolerant towards it. Besides, programs such as I-Tunes have purchased rights from the companies they take music from - so the idea behind it isn't so farfetched. Napster etc. also do it I do believe (but I think you pay them as a sub. fee so it isn't so obvious).

I think someone is taking a lot of offense in this topic Nikon. Maybe it is the guilt of knowing that you are riping off people who devote their lifes to creating game? ;)

Ohhh and lastly, chill lol. If you're taking my 'fag' as personal then don't - because I call sleez it all the time and he doesn't mind :x

Rent for housing
Food
Insurances
Travelling expenses

Once you've got to pay those kinds of things.... there's little money left for most.
