There really is no need for this sort of thing.
Such personal attacks are not necessary in politics.

BBC News - Tirade against 'damp rag' EU president shocks MEPs

UKIP's Nigel Farage should be ashamed of himself acting in such a way.
How does the rest of Europe view the UK now after that??
It's an embarrassment really...

I really do hope nobody votes for UKIP after this...

I think the rest of Europe is probably more outraged over the Greek Deputy PM's tirade against all current European leaders and then blaming Germany for their current problems due to the Nazi occupation during WW2 and accusing them of stealing Gold from the Greek National bank which has never been returned.

The Germans are extremely upset and the Greeks are now likely to go to the wall.

In that context I doubt farages comments are getting much coverage tbh.

There was a poll yesterday in 'Bild' which is approximately the German version of the Sun that had over 42,000 votes 83% against supporting Greece :p

The EU integration needs to be stopped, if it takes a bunch of loudmouth assholes to do it then so be it.

he thought Mr Van Rompuy was "competent and capable", adding that this made him "dangerous".

Who gives a fuck what Europe think of us? I don't. EU politicians are a bunch of corrupt self-serving unelected socialists whose giant experiment is about to fall flat on its face.

Fuck them, I agree with Farage.

If Europe goes down the drain, your precious England will follow suit - long gone are the days of locally crystallized economies. While I agree with your comment about our politicians, there's a bigger picture to consider.

Actually the EU seems to be the only thing stopping Labour from sending everyone to reeducation camps and getting a chip in their brain at the moment. Its come to a pretty pass when Europeans lecture Englishmen about civil liberties.

What about the Balkans? There's been plenty of war since then, it just happened to be outside Europe.

I'm with ramathorn on this one.... unelected officials dictating policy to democratically elected governments... It's a giant banana republic in the making.

I am sorry but what?? errr wake up and smell the roses.. your life has been dictated by officials not elected from the get go.. or unless you vote for presidents of the central banks.. they have more influence then any elected representatives. I could name more functions but I asume you would know them.
Saying that yes it all should be more democratic, but is that what people want? if it would be then the EU would be a nation and not a collective of independent states. Who could say no to most things decided there, but then again the EU is good to get the blame for most fuck ups.

I have nothing against the EU as an ideal. The implementation is flawed though:
You have a giant bureaucracy that expands to meet the demands of itself.
You have "judges" that overrule national laws, laws that were established hundreds of years ago, often at a considerable cost in human life.
You have the giant circus that is Brussels <> Strassbourgh. Please, if you're going to piss away my taxes, do it Millennium Dome style, not up against the wall.
Lisbon treaty. Mother of god and all that is holy in this world, talk about the political leaders of the EU signing away their sovereignty.
Those working for the EU as an organisation are as corrupt as they come. The MEPs fake attendance to get daily expenses. The pay the civil servants get for pushing paper is incredible. It's a giant gravy train.

And last but by no means the worst part of the EU.... Accountability. There is almost none. If an EU official fucks up, who does he report to? As long as you don't rock the boat, you enjoy the ride. There is no incentive for reform either, because that would make them look bad for not doing it earlier.

You just described much of the UK state - its certainly no worse than the million un-elected un-accountable Quango's that this Government and its predecessors brought in and that spend billions of our money each year.

The same for our civil service - and your local government services and the police and etc. etc.
