My wife just opened a can of tinned pineapple which I can't stand. She got all funny about it. I told her I preferred fresh. She said its exactly the same. Just tinned thats all. So I'm challenging her to a taste-off. Off to get a fresh one. Tinned pineapple v fresh. No contest IMO

Different.

Some things go better with tinned, some better with fresh.

generally fresh > tinned everything tbh but fresh pineapple is a pain because its all spikey and you have to do so much of the peelings and the corings , cba tbh.

I love mango but jeeze is that a bitch to prep lol you end up all sticky and slimey and all you get at the end is a piece of bloody fruit!

Best to let some Jamacian who needs a job do it for you and whack it in a tin. :) Everyone wins and he gets to feed his family too.

Fresh. Its easy to prep you lazy fuckers. cute slices, then cut then in quarters and eat the fleshy part.

for prepping a Mango. Cut it in 4 pieces. 2 of the flat side and 2 on the round side. cut excess flesh from the core.
slice the pieces into thin "boats". enjoy but dont eat the peel!

Doesn't pineapple have some flesh eating enzymes in it?

Yeah. Something like that. Excessive consumption can erode tooth enamel and fresh pineapple should be avoided by anyone with liver problems

i have a thing about tinned food... its probably psychological... i cant knowingly eat it without grimacing even if it smells/tastes good :S

tinned fruit is not that bad though, fresh is better, but fish, veg or whatever oh my days what a difference (and why buy tinned meat/fish/veg when you can buy frozen? o_O )

I prefer tinned. Although I like Pineapple, I much prefer eating the can and you simply cannot get that when going fresh.
