There are people who live in cardboard boxes that could afford £1.50 a week.

What you could say is that it's £6 a month for the game, plus the cost of the computer and connection. But then, most people who quit the game probably don't sell their PC and terminate their connections... they just quit the game :>

what has being able to afford it to do with not valuing it at £1.50 a week?

"one shot" I think that sums up a lot of DaoC rvr .. one shot kills.. point and click pvp.. the challenge of pressing the 1 key rapidly ahhh the joys of it.

while you gloat over your L337 skills of pressing a single key, some of us will be building cities and tearing down enemy ones in shadowbane whilst we build a community.

have fun little ones, i'd come back for a bit but i've misplaced the slot you place the coin in to play.

Reading the US boards, they say shadowbane is a pile of crap.

TBH with the NDA still up it's impossible to tell how Shadowbane actually is.

It can be both great and goddamn awfull, there is simply no information about it, that while Asheron's Call 2 (which is going to release around the same time btw) lifted the NDA a few days ago and went open beta.

We still don't know when SB is going open beta, in fact we don't even know if IT WILL go open beta, and that while the game is supposedly going to be released on 5th november.

Speculation on the web is that SB is in unreleasable state and will never be finished by the deadline, which will be forced upon SB by Ubisoft (SB is already in beta for 1,5 years). Either Wolfpack will do no open beta or do a v short one to cover this up and then will do an "AO" at release.

I have read some posts about ppl basically breaking the NDA (therefore they should be headed with care) and the general tone is rather mixed, though they all point to the fact that the game is far from finished.

I'm sure shadowbane will require absolute total mind-blowing skill to play, and only mature 30-year-olds with good connections and a perfect grasp of english will ever play it, and i expect the servers will ALWAYS be up, I'm sure it'll always remain absolutely new and fresh, and i'm sure the community you build will be so wonderful THAT NO-ONE EVER COMES ON A JOKE THREAD SAYING "THIS GAME SUCKS HAHA WHERE DO I PUT THE COIN IN ROFLMAO"

I love DaOC so much i bought another account, now £3.00 Week is pretty good, like 10 mintues work.

Even someone with a paper round could mange that.
