And to those who are wondering, it's real life images that construct this, not models :D

I messed around with TS a while ago and love it.

Here's one of a "model" village I did. Not perfect but I am happy with it in the main.

it's pretty cool, makes everything look "fake" even though it's real life.

My art student sister was working on this technique, I'll ask her if she's got any nice results :)

The example she showed me was a video someone had filmed like this of folks on a beach. Its a really cool effect :)

It's actually dead easy to do. The difficult bit is to get the subject and composition right and then a matter of blurring the back and foregrounds to trick the eyes and saturating the colours to make the subject look more like models.

Double decker buses and JCBs from a distance are often used due to their colur and the fact that people have probably got a model version at home :D

ofc originally it was used to suppress the way parallel lines seem to converge. I used to do a lot of technical photography where I'd work with bellows cameras what could fix that. awesome stuffs. pics look strangely surreal when they're corrected because your brain is telling you the lines should converge while they don't :D

The main 'trick' is reducing the depth of field. If you want to make life easier, just buy an old camera with a massive aperture :)

Could you achieve this with photo editing from a regular photo? Or is there some tricky photoshooty thing you need to do?

It can be done either way Toht, though you can control it more with 'shop. There is a specific GIMP filter for it, though its linux only.

Well in the land of skirts it's pretty much pitch black at 3pm. I had to get an appropriate picture quickly so I took one from my flat window so I could give this fake model thing a try.
