I discussed it with Yoni in IRC and we decided not to mod it at that time, though Yoni chose to post her views as a regular forum user rather than mod (as have I now). I have still only modded as a precaution at the board admins being unavailable, on the basis of complaints now having been received.

In response to the self-moderation vs. active moderation, some things need a mod to step in. If there are complaints about a link, then a mod needs to review it, and act accordingly. If no one complains, and it is within the CoC, then it will get left alone. Borderline cases are where we take feedback from the "report post" link.

Well you've all clicked it now, which is what I wanted when I made the thread. So well done on you for removing the link. Up to you I guess.

The ONLY reason I did not remove the link last night was because I had seen that Ted had already removed "stuff" which he felt was unsuitable. I added my remarks as someone reading the thread.

As for "shock" I had never seen the pic on the web before it was posted here and really did and do find it in poor taste.

For me the age thing was kinda relevant kinda not. If she is 17 fanTASTic there isn't underage pr0n on the forums, however and without getting into a massive debate about pr0n this girl / woman / child did not have an option in having her "curtains" pasted on forums around the world where as most of the babes in the babe of the day thread have been paid for modeling and made a "choice" as to what part of their anatomy is revealed.

*Disclaimer admittedly some have to enter into that field as a means of making a living and all the other arguments some of you can / will come up with for the hell of it - for me there is definitely a moral difference between looking at the picture of that gymnast and looking at day to day pr0n*

Don't understand what the fuss is to be honest. I sw a picture of a female who clearly wasn't underage (fuck knows where that came from) who's costume had risen up and was quite tight. Seen it a hundred times in the Olympics and yet they haven't been banned from our screens or any mention of paedophilia.

Whether people find that kind of thing tasteless or humourless is another matter but there certainly wasn't anything controversial or offensive about the picture. Usual over-reaction as ever.

I think Yoni is too sensitive. Keeps using the paedo word as well. It's clearly nothing to do with it!

Could you tell me exactly where i mentioned paedophilia please mellow?

As for over reacting I reserve the right to my point of view Jonaldo and in my point of view that was poor taste. As for seeing it all the time at the olympics etc I do not actually spend my time waiting to catch a glimpse of some girls "curtains" do you?

You put that word right there!

As for the rest, yes. Sure you have a right to your point of view. But now you're asking me if I watch it purely for that? Judgemental much? Just because I put a link up doesn't mean I watch sport.

If it had been an image of some porn queen pulling her g string up it couldn't have been more explicit, and we wouldn't be having this discussion, the pic would have probably been removed as unsuitable also. Just because it happens to be some poor girl caught on camera in this situation doesn't make it more acceptable, in my view.

I find that quite tasteless but hey if 14/15 year olds are your thing
Well, although I agree with your point many female gymnasts are given drugs to hold off puberty because they lose some agility from it. The girl in the picture could be near twenty. Just a small piece of information, I am not stating an opinion either way here.

Her age isn't in question. It's the blatant over reaction that is.

Anyway, the link has been removed now so we should probably close this thread before it turns nasteh.

I think it does make a difference. After all, you can show women giving birth on tv, but you can't show any of that region on tele if it's shown in a sexualy oriented fashion. Context makes a lot of difference. The picture was fine, it was quite amusing (not hugely) and the over reaction was just that.
