So 2 things really:

1) Has anyone here bought this (or thinking about it)?
2) RTS on a console??????

I am thinking about buying this but only if I can play some friendly peeps (freddys!!!) over LIVE. I hear the control system works really well with the exception of managing very small unit groups on the fly.

I am sorely tempted.

Answers in a post please.

1. Buying it tomorrow.

2. RTS on console? so what? not the first to come out and it won't be the last i wish people would bin the idea of RTS cannot be done on a console.

If it is the controls people have a hissy fit about then learn to adapt it really isn't that big of a deal after you have been playing for an hour.

Everyone else is on the same playing field as you no uber omfg £1000 laser guided mouse's that people like buying these days.

Everyones computer is the same no lagging/fps dropping to a crawl if your shit pc can't handle it.

The game has had some fantastic reviews so far and Gamespot in particular didn't even put the controls in the bad part of the review they said they were very good.

Get it :)

I'll warn you though if you don't like rushing it might not be for you... the game is mostly built on rushing and you can expect to be in intense fights from about the 3min mark in the game.

I will be playing Nod myself :)

me > FH..... in PES

I'm not going to buy it, as I suck at rts games. It does look good though, but I'll regret it if I buy it, as i'm going to lose 95% of my matches.

PS. I'll pwn you with a rabona in our next match Aada :)

I'll prob get it. Have played original C&C on the PS1 and after a short time it was fine using the pad.

I read somewhere on xbox scene or something about people using a keyboard and mouse with a 360 via some electronic magic spells or something (spot the non IT bod and also someone who doesn't particularly care about it either).

Legzor, I will of course have you a game, about time I actually played you against something :)

Going to pick it up tomorrow, it takes a while to get used to it but it soon clicks.

It was also nice to play a RTS that ran silky smooth for a change.

Does it have a map editor on the 360? (had a quick look on google and didnt find anything) Otherwise there really isn't any point if you cant get some of the better player made maps (or indeed make your own)

Sorry i just don't see the point in cut down console versions of games when you can get the full version for PC

To be honest though Raven, my PC really wouldn't run this game at full eye candy (or even wireframe) so the console version is a decent trade off (even if it is a little more expensive). Plus I know a few people here to play over live and as such am guaranteed a decent MP game or two. I don't have as much fun playing randoms.

Here is one main reason.

Anything can go wrong with a PC game you buy just because your PC meets the requirements doesn't mean your going to have a trouble free game.

Drivers for one are really annoying and then there is patches etc which i just can't be bothered with these days.

When you put a game into a console you know its going to work with no problems such as installing new drivers/programs etc etc.

If MS released an update which allowed you to browse the net i'd never use my PC again.

PC gaming imo is going downhill and has been for a couple of years i have a top of the line PC but barely use it because good games for the PC are few are far between releases each year.

Console gaming is booming atm and i see little reason anymore to invest in yearly updates for my PC ;/

You're either misinformed, stupid, or deliberately trolling. Drivers aren't a huge problem these days (unless you're still on windows 95?). And patches? Heh, they're happening on consoles all the time.

Some areas of PC gaming are dead, but they still rule the FPS, RTS and MMORPG markets. Only problem is piracy affecting PC sales much more than consoles.

If you have a good PC then RTS is far better on PC. Trouble free gaming on consoles? I was playing co-op rainbow 6 on live. When I died my console locked up, 10 mins later and my friend died and his console locked up....

I play 360 for anything but RTS and on the whole FPS too.

As for this C&C game, I tried the PC demo and didnt see anything new / innovative compared to the original C&C games.

Well locking up could be an error in the connection between you are ur m8.

I agree they cannot top Red Alert but it is still very fun over live :)

Gears of War owns Crackdown with a big massive locust shaped cock.

I'm getting this game today hopefully. Will report back later. Trying to decide which game to trade in. I have 3 that I don't ever play.

2 different games.

They are both top 360 games.
