Throttling software

I want to throttle my kid
























's bandwidth so that he can happily, if slowly, download his porn or whatever when I am playing without lagging me stupid. At the moment I run in 512 ADSL but I am trying, if the line supports it, to upgrade to 1Mb. Our config is to all connect to an ADSL router, so I need to know if either:

a) There are ADSL routers which allow restrictions on bandwidth to connected PCs

or

b) Are there any reliable apps available which I could install on his machine which would perform the same throttling function.

Help appreciated

It's a little involved at first maybe to configure rules, but once you get the hang of it, there's nothing you can't do

sorry to dig up ancient threads (1 month old, amaagad!) but im looking for a program that can limit on a per process basis on a w32 machine, anyone know of anything? iv not checked that bandwidthcontroller yet so i have no idea if it can do what i want but from a brief look it seems like its on a per box basis - not really what im after.

Netlimiter, mentioned above can throttle on a per process basis, have you tried that?
