Thought's needed plz

Hi all, This company im working for needed a new logo so i've quickly knocked something together. They are wrangling over them, So i need some impartial advice.

So which one do you like, the two which are populare here are 3 & 4 down, so it would be preferable if you commented on the one that you think is best out of those two. Cheers

I have to say #4 is the best, the gem logo looks neat

I prefer 3. 4 is very good but I think 3 has a slightly more universal appeal and is less 'intruding'.

erk... i think when it comes down to it now its that both 3 and 4 are good, but the decision will be based on popularity. So will just have to wait and see which one wins

i liked 3 as a logo the most but 4 does look more gemmy

Thats the problem i guess, there are a mixture of young and older people here, and some of them are for the new way of very simple abtract logo and site design while others want to retain at least a small inkling of the "gem" in the logo. The current logo looks like a 1980s throwback.... proper bitmap made in paint gem logo... its pretty horrid

The gem does look good in 4, but I prefer the third one as a logo I think.
