I don't know if they do it anymore but I know there used to be companies that would link you up with people who were moving cross country but didn't want to drive so they would give you their car if you were driving to where they were moving. You know it might almost be worth seeing if you can buy a crock on thye cheap and just drive that till it busts/ gets you where you wanna go.
