Disabled people need right to travel abroad, say UK MPs amid ‘ridiculous’ restrictions row
Outcry over ‘brazenly discriminatory’ funding practices among NHS care boards and local councils, with wide variations in ruleswww.theguardian.com
So, should we fund everything? Or should a severe disability come with a sad acknowledgement that public funding only goes so far, and whilst nobody is restricting you from doing a thing, the public purse will only go so far?

Nobody could stop them spending their own money. It's their money?
Nobody could stop them spending their own money.
The question is what should the taxpayer fund? Where should the limits be?
I can't read the article, and will not be giving the tax dodging Guardian any money to do so. But if he works, and doesn't need the money, why is he getting the money?! There are millions of hard-working people that cannot afford to go on holiday, a holiday is a luxury. No, they're allocated a budget that they can take out.
The article states that one of them works, so he probably doesn't need the money for day to day living <snip>
Based on postcode - one guy gets the budget, another doesn't - based on postcode. No, they're allocated a budget that they can take out.
Yes. And if we're denying cancer drug treatment based on cost, should the taxpayer be funding luxury?a holiday is a luxury.

The question itself seems to upset you.
Yes. And if we're denying cancer drug treatment based on cost, should the taxpayer be funding luxury?
Oh yeah. My bad. It must feel really shitty for him.No, reading it seems they both get the budget, but Trusts have different rules on how you can spend it.
Because if he didn't work, he'd still get enough money to have a decent life, so why not encourage him to work too?I can't read the article, and will not be giving the tax dodging Guardian any money to do so. In isolation, maybe. But there's plenty of families that can't afford to go to Greece, and the NICE thing - meds we're not giving very ill people because they don't get value for money for the taxpayer.I don't think it's fair to expect him to pay for it.

I don't disagree that people get shit they don't deserve. Frankly, if you earn above average wage you should get nada. Nothing. Help yourself.
That way health and education would get funded properly.
