Another one. This one in the House Of Lords

Has been pushing for same sex marriage as well. Which I personally think is farcical - any religious gay person should have a word with themselves. God hates the gays, according to his guidebook. So they should bin the fucker off.

Not often one to defend plod but:

Getting sacked for this verges on the archetypal "political correctness gone mad" IMO. Yes, there are all sorts of complex socio, economic and cultural reasons and drivers behind the crime rates in the traveller communities and our prison population - 0.1% of our population making up 7% of our prison population.

A 15% literacy rate - effectively self-enforced- will do that to you.

But getting shot of plod for making a technically correct, but not politically correct joke is not great.

Yeah, the dumb cunt shouldn't have said it, but our environment is all wrong in the UK.

Whilst we don't want racism and prejudice we also have to be a bit pragmatic. We've created an environment which is hostile to truth-telling and if we can't say it how we see it (and this applies to all of us) without fear of severe censure then we can't resolve our problems.

Similarly, there was an outraged article in the guardian some months back complaining that it was horribly racist to say that black men abandon their children - leaving the mothers single. Even though the article openly admitted more than half do.

So, we're in a place where we're sacking plod because he made a stupid joke about aquisitive crime in a community that commits a high level of aquisitive crime.

He's a cunt, but we need to reduce the level of legal obligation on the average man to act like an intellectual saint.

The apology for this:

should be "if you took offense please educate yourself on coprolalia because you're a fucking idiot".

Yeah funny one. Film about 'raising awareness etc'...

"Free Palestine" gets edited out, but the n-word is left in? Strange choice.

Because of intent.

I mean seriously, did any of these fuckwits complaining actually even Google what I Swear is about before opening their overprivileged pie-holes? Given the movie kind of came out of left field and swept up a bunch of awards, you think they'd make the effort for that reason alone.

Thing that amazed me is I watched Robert Aramayo's acceptance speech and found out a. he's from Hull (well done lad) and b. he's this guy:

I wouldn't have made the connection in a million years.

Just watched his speech. :)

Yeah, I knew it was him. He was probably the best thing in that gawd awful rings of power. But you know, his win smacks a bit of this ;)

But it's good. Those fuckwits complaining really have...

Sadly, my objection to the death sentence is increasingly predicated on our imperfect justice system and miscarriage of justice risks (which I wager are even more massive than we think) rather than an intrinsic wrongness :(

Greeting strangers.

Can I just say, Nashville is one hell of a town and possibly about the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

A strip with 30+ bars, all with Live Music playing, and some bloody superb Hot Chicken.

I even preferred it to Vegas - well, the strip anyway. Fremont Street probably still has the edge, but it's damned close.

I also got IDed for buying beers and nicotine pouches in their equivalent of Boots. Just wish I'd found the melatonin gummies me mate found!

Always wanted to visit. I know about the live music scene and stuff. But really. I think I just like the name.

The music was superb - we saw about 8 or 9 bands through the week, all brilliant. The duelling pianos we saw were especially brilliant - they even played Angels, which was impressive considering no one over there has heard of it.

Loads of musicians have their own bars there - Kid Rocks was as lively as you would expect, Post Malone's had a good vibe but was a bit small.
