That is a harsh fine though. You could be driving down the highway 100 mph here and get a 300-400 quid fine, tops. A cut license to go if faster.

To be fair nothing has been decided yet, the court date hasn't been set. You'd hope they would take the circumstances into consideration, it would be unfair to be treated the same as someone speeding just for shits and giggles or cos they're late for tea.

From what i read the police recommended or offered the fine. I think he decided to go to court. Could be wrong tho
