But seeing as they disappeared into the distance, one can assume they aren't homing drones.

This presumes the operator understands what the "return to home" altitude is, and that there isn't something like a power line or bridge in the way. And they'll only return to the GPS coordinates recorded when the drone first powered on, which means that if the operator turned it on and started flying, it'll return home to Morocco or somewhere.

On shore wind farms are a complete waste of time, I don't think that is even a question that requires an answer, is it? Off shore is marginally better but can be pretty horrific for animal life.

That being said, neither is fracking. Its still a finite, destructive source.
