I actually had no idea what he said and couldn't be arsed. You are right!

Suprisingly many people doesn't look left and right when they're about to hit an intersection where there "might" be traffic but there are no stop or warning- signs. Walked about an intersection, left side pavement and straight ahead at the street to the left there was a large dumpster blocking the view - naturally looking before i crossed, and in the blink of an eye an elderly man comes sweeping past without even batting an eye to either side. Fuckers.

Er, what? She's crossing oncoming traffic. Where else is she supposed to be looking? On a two way road, the dividing line also means "give way".

I watched a winters tale the other day, initially I figured it would be a chick flick but the misssus roped me in with the concept of a time travelling irishman riding a unicorn with will smith as lucifer... utter shit movie unbelievably dull

So went to see The Grand Budapest Hotel in cinema and it was absurdly funny :)

Went out to get a spot of lunch, lovely blue sky, noticed huge contrails in the sky overhead flying almost directly north. "fuck me, that's some fucking plane" - looked like the contrails of two 747s, so I fired up flightradar quickly and it was indeed an Air France A380 en route to San Francisco from Paris.

My word, that Airbus is a big motherfucker.

Careful Gwad, you'll have to start explaining to people why it's funny (or not funny, i don't even know any more).

If you don't know for certain that you're at fault, you'd surely say you're not, right?

Unless it means something completely different around there.
tbh I'm going to agree with your statement here. if the car driver genuinely did not see the cyclist, then the driver could claim not at fault.

that said, humans can build up a picture of circumstances leading up to an event. in this case we have witnesses and also the camera footage. this shows that car did actually cut off bike, and that no right of way was yielded. if car still denies fault in the face of this reconstruction, then car needs more than just driving skill examined.

still, I will also agree that there are some fairly agressive cyclists out there. even so, not a lot of them are willing to put themselves in harm's way to prove a point. in the NL, car vs bike events are insta-blame for car -as things should be imo- as in such an event the worst off is almost always the bike. if the bike in the vid had been a car, he would have T-boned the shit out of the car leaving the road and absolute carnage would have ensued, I kid you not.

I find that statement highly questionable. I see that kind of "point proving" all the time.

No, automatic blame should never be apportioned, under any circumstance. That's a very slippery slope.

In this case the driver was 100% at fault, but if the situation was reversed and a bike turned right across the path of a car, the cyclist would be at fault, end of.

really? I don't, and/but I live in a cycle-phile country and bike near every day.

also, yes, I agree that auto-blame is not the way forwards. in fact, it could no longer be the case in this day and age. I could check if I get motivated enough.

It was on top of all the cunts nose-out into the cycle lane. When I first watched it I was just watching to see where the accident would come from.

If you go on youtube he gives a reason why he's not in the cycle lane too. I agree.

I don't think being in the cycle lane would have made any difference when some daft cunt just pulls out in front.

I have not watched the video. But isn't one of the first rules of car insurance to never admit fault especially on camera?

They took the bikes off the posties near me and replaced them with little 4 wheel trolleys. The reason they got told unofficially was because some guy fell off the bike on his first day and broke his wrist. So he sued the Post Office because they gave him a bike and offered him no training, he never thought to tell anyone he had never ridden a bike.

No it's not, they don't give a fuck, so long as they have the 'Muricans helping them, they do not care.
