They really are making Uni easier and easier... :(
Not really that was the same when I took my degree twenty years ago. You just had to pass the first year and the last two counted towards the grade you got.

My first year was weighted, but I still had to pass well because it still counted...

I don't understand UK grades, but I can not comment as I have no clue how heavy the exams and delivered products are. Also, at least in the NL, there are differences according to fields: my mate did something judicial and he had friggin 4 hour long written tests. He'd be telling me that people doing the tests would be crying from cramp in their writing hands, etc.

For me, in the IT field, I don't think I ever had an exam that went over 1,5 hours. Usually, in the course of a semester we'd be scored on -on average- two exams and two products. Scores for everything had to be >=55% to pass. In one semester I was scored on 8 separate products and two tests, 4 products and a test for each "side" of the semester.

well seeing as they are law students I'm guessing the markers will do the best they can or the school will get sued or some silly, time and money consuming facsimile.

I have no reasonable reply so I'll go for the racist chant.
I'll post random shit just to stir stuff up, and make comments that are absolutely retarded.

I hope you don't get into trouble with the law, and you need a lawyer.

I hope you don't have kids, so your kids then go to school and need a teacher.

I hope you don't go into hospital and have to have an operation by a qualified surgeon

I was referring to the unmerited elitism of the degree..not that people shouldnt learn the required knowledge for their job...though that requirement is itself becoming redundant very quickly indeed

Sorry for this gagging, but just needs to clearing up: http://9gag.com/gag/aLKxYjv

Northeners: Must refer to you guys in the northern parts of U.K, right? Or is it the Scotts?

(nevermind it being shopped)
Yes Northerners as in Yorkshire and Newcaste types..the flat cap and ferret stereotype that southerners have..which is pretty rich coming from
a part of the country where they all sound like Alf Garnet and live on jellied eels.

I don't think I've ever even met someone who's eaten a jellied eel

Had an absolute beast of a hail storm yesterday - lumps of ice up to 20mm hurtling down. The worst affected building? The local church. If that's not a message from up there I don't know what is.

You wouldn't want one of those hitting your noggin any time. They'd break glass etc i take it.

We had some hail hit us the other day, basically from the clear sky as the clouds were a few hundred meters to the south. 2-3 mm only, but one landed in my eye basically, hurt like hell.

Well apart from the very likely prediction from many think tanks that two thirds of jobs will be lost to robots or algorithms in the next 30 years..allready many previously skilled jobs are performed by less skilled people following computer aided flow charts..in my line of work repairing bpilers I see a huge increase in people fixing them by themselves using youtube videos.

I'm going to regret this subject but...

Why does the Tour de France start in the UK, and since when?
