Are there any PAYG offers out there that aren't contracts?

When I used to be on PAYG on o2, I used to get texts, data, and minutes for that month, then get money as well as to spend afterwards..

Now it seems they're pretty much contracts?

Not sure, thought you could just get a top up card and your calls, texts and data cost X per unit and it came out of how much you had on there...though was no such thing as data the last time I had a pay as you go.

Well, when PAYG first came out, it was pretty much, here's your money, this is how much your calls & texts cost.

Then they went for there, here's your money, here's how much your calls/texts/data costs, but here's some data for the first month for 'free'

Now it seems to be, Here's your calls/text/data for this month, but you have no money to spend afterwards.

I use the 3 network on PAYG, pretty standard but pretty cheap :p I was on Vodafone with 30p per min calls now I'm on 3p per min calls I don't even top up as much now :)

With mind-blowing rates of 3p a minute, 2p a text and 1p a MB of data, you can talk, text and browse your heart out. Once you’ve topped up, the rates don’t change after 30 days – they last until you use your last penny. No more converting to this or bundling to that, just a simple top-up to get great rates.

My first phone was a PoS 7800, always connected to the wall so you couldn't use it outside the house, no display, big buttons and you had to talk into this banana shaped thing that was attached to the phone by a swirly wire.

Sounds like your services are pretty expensive? I have six hours of free calls, 5gb 4G data and free texts for just about £20 a month

I use SIM only deals and my options are

Stay with Voda - 900 mins, Unlimited texts and 500gb of data for £13.50 (12 months)
Go to Tesco - 750 mins, 5000 texts and 1gb of data (with no extra charges for 4G) for £12.50 (30 day rolling)
Go to Virgin - 1200 mins, Unlimited texts and 1gb of data for £12 (30 day rolling)

I think I need to get both a Virgin and Tesco SIM and see which one has the better signal in my house and use that to decide. Either way Vodafone are out. I think have to call and threaten to leave to get a decent deal is a load of bollocks.

On Tesco myself, no regrets. It's o2 network if that helps.

Pay as you go is pretty expensive over here I think, or is in comparison to pay monthly.

I have a Galaxy S4 unlimited calls and texts and 2gb (think it is) data for £20 a month. 2 year contract.

The phone is on a separate agreement, again at £20 a month.

O2 split the phone and the tariff now so that if you decide to switch either phone or contract you pay less to get out of either contract.

Or as I suspect ordinary ones just have a loop tape playing of Ach Balla or whatever they chant as each animal gets killed the normal way.

Funny you mention that, I was about to post this;

It seems that the 'faith leaders' are being a bit more rational - so long as the meat is blessed, the killing method is irrelevant, it would seem, anyway.

Tesco reckon all their meat is blessed, so you've all been eating halal, hahahahahahahahahaha you're all going to muslim heaven!

The whole thing is utter bullshit...are we honestly expected to believe there are Muslims reciting the blessing at every kill..to feed Europe there'd have to be 1000s of them talking at 3000mph 24/7...its not practical and I bet some lard arse turns up and blesses the lot before going off to prayer for the fifth time that day.

It's like Dota.

If that doesn't mean anything to you; then it's a 5v5 competitive team game. Each player controls 1 character and the aim of the game is to destroy the enemies base. You run around the map killing stuff to level up and buy items. You then try to kill the enemy players and attack their base.

It's the biggest eSports (competitive computer games played for money) game at the moment; loads of professional teams regularly getting hundreds of thousands of viewers and shit loads of prize money and stuff.

I want to get a new car when I get back from my holiday, mainly cause I want one and my current car is on its way out. At the mo I'm really fancying a Volvo C30.

I was looking at one, I opted for the Hyundai I40 Tourer instead as it came with pretty much everything! Decent mileage as well.

Never really considered a Hyundai, think the i40 is a bit big for what I'm after. Maybe the i30 instead. Most Asian cars I've been in have felt really rattly and plasticky thought, which is kind of a put off.
