People need some generic time-frame to indicate the present in order for it to make sense. Its an artificial construct. When sprinters cross the finishing line and its recorded in terms of hundreths of a second, you could sub-divide that time further, thousandths, hundreds of thousandths of a second, billionths....where do you draw the line? Eventually you'd go into such tiny sub-divisions of time you enter the quantum state, which is not very practicable. As soon as someone references a fixed point in time, since time doesn't stand still, its already gone. How long does "now last for?
