While i can, hmm, respect the power (un-named group of people) has gained, i'm also a bit on the cautious side on the power they've gained. Hopefully they don't turn "evil" anytime soon.

This is my exact thought :\

I see it as Anonymous has five groups of people

1. The vast majority who posts on /b/, who feels that they are a part of an internet secret club, without ever having done any hacking, LOIC attacks or done anything basically and just reads the threads and replies with comments such as "EPIC WIN OP!"

2. A small(er) group of people who actually do the above in the name of the good(some will see it as good, other's will see it as bad/criminal).

3. Perhabs an even smaller group that does these things for the money involved with internet crimes. Hired by companies or on their own/group of people working together

4. People who just want to watch the world burn. Fuck up websites for lulz and takes down random stuff all over the internet

5. People who post on bulletin boards and just want to be anonymous

I, obviously, have no idea of the size of these groups, but people seem to have an idea that they are all in on this together, which couldn't be further from the truth.

But why would you even try to patent their name, logo and slogan is beyond me. It's like kicking a bee hive and expecting not to get stung

Yeah - its a nice piece of kit - I looked into converting it to a 3D scanner (which it can do) but the current models aren't good enough on fine detail for my purposes so I hope future versions may improve this.

I like Twitter a lot.

I like the ability to follow a variety of content that is of interest to you (or follow users who re-tweet things most likely of interest to you also) and the use of hashtags to somewhat share relevant things back to other people around the globe. Facebook has been taken over by AIDS and bored women who spam banal, mindless and monotonous tripe. I know you can block people's content from appearing, but then that almost defeats the whole purpose of Facebook.

With Twitter, I can follow my mates who actually have something interesting to say (photography, cars, technology, ice hockey, genuinely funny stuff etc.) and those that talk utter fucking bollocks I can simply "unfollow" (99.9% of women I know, baby photo posters, emotive passive / aggressive bitching about other people, going on about how fucking awesome they are because they bought an iPad etc.), which is much more socially acceptable than a Facebook "defriend". When you defriend people, you make a statement about your relationship with that person, particularly if you do actually know them.

I'm very close to chucking in Facebook in, I've already binned all my photo albums.
