But it's amusing, orange man supporters are almost as fun as playing a game or some shit.
Playing a game doesn't have potential consequences other than for yourself.

Say you wind some cunt up and he gets frustrated and angry and twats his wife?

It's just a shit and childish way to spend your time tbpfh. But knock yourself out if you must. I'd read a book instead tbpfh.

Does anyone bother rooting phones these days?

Most banking apps won't work if you're rooted and a lot of stuff can be done in Settings or with apps. And a lot are locking bootloaders which makes rooting impossible anyway.

Iusually only play with that stuff after electronics have been replaced and they are a spare to play with.

Helpful hint for you all.... even when drunk, it's important to put your arm through the sleeve of a t-shirt rather than the neck, to avoid frustration......

Or maybe we do the sensible thing and not force people back into the office and allow the economy to adapt.

I wouldn't mind seeing city land lords crash and burn anyway.
Agreed. My company has stated that anyone who can work from home will continue to do so until at least mid Jan 2021 and then it will be a controlled return to the office. They also have noted that full time office working (ie 5 days a week) is going to be a thing of the past.

Came back from 2 weeks in Turkey recently. Important note: I rarely drink.

We got back to London, a few days later I needed blood tests.

Got a call maybe 20m ago, went something like this:

GP: "Your liver markers are quite higher than normal.."
Me: "What causes that?"
GP: "Usually excessive alcohol or over the counter meds"
Me: "... Well, we did just get back from an all inclusive break"
GP: "... Tests booked in 2 weeks for them to be re-done, nothing to worry about. Bye"
Me: "Cool, bye"

Moral of the story: Don't spend 2 weeks drinking gin, to then come home and have blood tests done.

Same. We're having to do some interesting people management because of it though. A few people in my wider team are really struggling right now because of it. I'm not a fan of the whole idea but.. Nothing I can do.

I think the pandemic has shown many Companies that home working is perfectly viable and can lead to reduced costs as they don't need expensive office space. Employees like it as it removes the cost of commuting which offsets the costs of working at home. I normally do 3 days at home and 2 in the office. Having said that I have been to the office several times during the past few months to do equipment installs, build a pre-prod environment. Luckily I can gain access via the back door :)

My mum works as a child support worker for the council, they've all obviously been working at home since the lock down started, they've been told that they've been more efficient from working at home, but are going to return to the office after Christmas (working in a rented office space with tax payer funded car parking).

It's ridiculous, why do we still have this Victorian attitude about getting people in the work place?

Honestly I hate working from home, but that's partly because my work put off implementing decent solutions for years (still don't have Teams or Slack for example; and it took me my first year working there to get JIRA in properly) and because I have a job that involves tons of other depts (like Procurement and Risk and Commercial etc.),I feel like I'm constantly fighting the systems and processes with emails and VMs going into the ether, where I could just go and talk to people before. I used to have no problem going and buttonholing someone who was avoiding my calls; now I have to escalate things and I hate that. I also hate having to schedule absolute every call and conversation; its not conducive to idea generation.

Having said all that, I'd better get used to it because I doubt I'll be back in the office full time...ever.

my company found that people are more or just as efficient at home as work. Hes no sign of them opening offices as of yet.

they did up the monitoring on work assets though. I could really screw that with my pi hole. But i would probably get a rap on the knuckles haha
