That Vedic maths clip was cool - only useful on larger numbers though, that first one could have been chunked easily. Applying all the rules though, pain in the arse. Maths thinking is definitely an ability people have or don't for the hard stuff. (I'd rep you Lamp but it won't let me )

i was having a go at the vedic stuff earlier, it's genuinely the first time i've ever been interested in maths.

i showed it to my mum who is a secondary school maths teacher and she's never seen it before and thought i was some kind of genius who had invented a new system, despite the fact i'd recently got 35% in my foundation maths module at uni
