If you buy now you're actually certifiable. The RX480 is coming at the end of the month and the 8GB version is predicted to cost £~210. This is based off of a leaked retail price of € 229 before tax.

That was my point though, they're already about four times the price for being a fraction of the size. The value only matters when you buy and sell, and it's practically impossible for anyone on the average wage to buy a house in the south east.

I shall heed that advice, doing some googling this morning seems to be bringing up a lot of leaked stats over the past day or two - I'll hang out for an 8GB card and some preliminary reviews I think.

The drivers are great now. They put them out much more regularly, with much quicker fixes and profiles for Crossfire support. It's an effort they've made since the Fiji cards were launched and also since they launched the new driver package ("Crimson Edition").

re: those leaked 3d mark scores: they've been spread around by the usual "tech rumour" sites and aren't really worth anything at this point.

That's exactly what my sister and her husband did. It was like a Jedi mind trick, first they were all "oh, fuck moving back to Scotland" then "holy shit, we can buy LOL-ACRES for £LOLWUT, we're moving back to Scotland!".

That is very true, the next door neighbours daughter has moved up here so she can be near her parents, they sold their 4 bedroom house in Ke t and bought an 8 bedroom ex care house in a really posh area for 500K, it is frickin massive in a leafy private square.

Thats why the houses are cheaper obviously...the wages are lower on average, but also people are not as driven to rise up the housing ladder.

I find it amazing, it's feeding on anti-English football sentiment, and it's ridiculous.

Sure, some England fans are nobs, have a drink and start throwing chairs at people.

I think there's a difference between that and the Russians that turn up in black with balaclavas on wielding weapons and are intentionally trying to find a fight.

Oh, and the fact that the guy lighting that flare during last nights match was a message to the Russian Ultras to attack the England fans, that's organised, lol.

When I was watching the game I was thinking how low the police presence was in the stadium, and most stewards are the volunteer type you get at world events and such, so have little or no training, most the time they stood there and watch England fans get beaten up by the Russians.

You need to think of geography too - France isn't far away, as a result ALOT of England fans who aren't actually members of the EnglandFans groups (IE can't get tickets, and are barred due to hooliganism) are also going. There's been reports of a lot of England fans (mainly Scousers apparently) going around and ripping tickets from the the hands of England fans queuing outside the stadiums.

I have a friend who's a massive fan of our local club (why, I have no idea, they're pretty meh imo). He knows all the hard core hooligan guys and he swears all is well: "we just never sit in "their" section of the stadium and nothing ever happens in the quiet bits so it's cool. I made up a story where I said I used to play water polo and a bunch of guys on the team always peed in the pool. It was fine I said, I always play on the other flank. My mate confessed he didn't understand my analogy so I felt sad.

Anyway, sports violence sucks. If drinking a few pints and then throwing a chair at somebody is your idea of fun you should be locked away. Getting organized so you can throw said chairs in sync with your BFF's is called rioting and/or mass assault. Stooping as low as to take a valid ticket off of someone because you've been barred from purchasing tickets legally is called theft. I'm frankly surprised that real football fans actually go to major games. Too bad Mank's not with us any more. Iirc he was a massive fan and quite articulate.
