So this extra bill from the EU and France's rebate has played right into UKIP's hands just before a by-election. Well played Europe.

Yarr just seen it, they reckon if Cameron tells them to FO it'd take years of legal proceedings + we'd only likely get fined 200-250mil which is a pissy amount compared to the 1.7billion they're demanding... bit of a no brainer really, if Cameron rolls over for them as you say, it'll just play into UKIP's hands even more.

A bill we are due to pay and we've known about for some time.

We've had rebates before, now it's our turn to pay. It's not like we hadn't signed up to all of this. We've been underpaying, now it's our turn...

It's bad timing, and a big problem for the government as they'll annoy the rest if Europe if we try to avoid payment when it's a fair bill, and play right into ukip's hand if they don't.

I actually quite like the look of that!

It's not a trailer for a film - it's a short film by the ESA to promote the Rosetta mission.

I understand the need to popularise science - but I'm not sure where I sit on the fence of making science all "woooo" rather than making it appeal on its own terms. That film sort of does the imagining for people, rather than people having to imagine for themselves...

That's an awesome way of doing it. The prep was pretty much completely in secret, no massive sponsorship deals, he broke a load of records. Well played sir.

I relly wish there was an rpg(talking skyrim/fallout/whatnot here) that didn't have a huge epic storyline tied to it. I know i know, don't have to do it and all, but just the idea of the whole budget/focus going on building possibilities/choices/the world around the player on a scale of say skyrim budget has real potential. Essentially build aworld of "endless" possibilities and let players make the stories and epic adventures.

Just put on your deaf ears when someone cries for the dragonborn and go farming vegetables asking for likes in the village to get more lettuce.

Surely there are mods to remove the dragonborn story line? You can skip the beginning at least. I know what you mean though, it'd be nice to rise up from nothing and become a badass without some sort of blood line advantage story stuff going on.

Politicians and nappies have one thing in common. They should be changed regularly, and for the same reason.

It's more about the resources used to make the storyline and adjacent parts of it. As i said, i know i can skip itand all, but i'd like to see what more in the roleplay department could be done with the time/money.

I only watched a minute or so, have since watched the full thing, and I did enjoy it :) The characters are interesting enough for me to want to know more from a scifi perspective (despite it being an advert :p), but it's an interesting topic.

Arbitrary fines, costs and such being legal? Yeap.

But i'm guessing you mean stifling of freedom of speech, yeap on that too.

Though so are the chants.

Hmm, utterly was a great choice for a word there :D

Well, you can't beat them to within an inch of their lives so fines will have to do.
