By the looks of them they most likely come from an upscale Bordeaux/Bourgogne or Piemonte/Toscana house

My grandparents ran the biggest cooperage in Liverpool and made quite a tidy sum which they proceeded to gamble and piss up the wall.

Same, my grandads adoptive parents were millionaires, they invested loads of money over the years into textiles companies in Leicester, then one day, it all went tits up, their investment was worth nothing.

It's amazing what you find when you some family tree stuff, someone on here helped me do mine, my Grandma always went on about her uncles she never met that died in WW1, and I managed to find them, and where they died, turns out one of them was somewhat of a war-hero - fought on a hill for days with a few men against hundreds of Germans.

The other, if I remember correctly either died at Ypres or the Somme, another among thousands.

One of my great-grandparents used to own a big house right on the edge of what is now Wentworth. Sold it for not very much at all. :(

We've done the family tree on my Dad's side; soldiers going all the way back, with some suspiciously dodgy types in 18th/19th century

I think I got my Dads Dads side back to 1700 or something; name, birth place, death place and a picture, I was quite impressed :)

Just had one of those 'you have a virus, let us fix it' phone calls.

It ended up with me planning to meet him in 'Greater London' for a beer.

I love being self-employed. Gives me loads of time to walk up hills like this:

Where you at Tom? Looks like you're looking down into Edale with Mam Tor, Hollins Cross & Lose Hill the other side of the valley...

I just signed up for the BHF Offroad Peak Ride round there this evening :)

Ever fancied coming to skirts and doing some walking? You'll have a good time, I guarantee it.

@Big G , different strokes i guess. Seeing all those hills and rocks to some look like a fun time, to me it looks like achy feet and scraped knees :p

Yes it's cloudy almost every day at the summit.

Yeah there was a bunch of white out warning signs when I went there which I thought was really odd but the guide was saying how sometimes its so bad you can hardly see your hand in front of your face.
