It looks like it's fairly in line with right above his ear seeing as the guy's leg is on the other side of it.

Nah. Just think it's the way it looks a little - but not that much IMO.

Think of it this way - do you honestly think trains have little sticky outey knife bits like a James Bond car? :)

At the end of the day WTF was he doing stood next to the track taking a pic of himself, so close infact that the driver was able to kick him in the head.

Its a set up or he deserved to get a boot in the face

Good trains have all sorts of sticky out bits. The idea is that people don't stand next to them as they are moving. It could be a knackered door frame, a bit of trim sticking out, anything. Not all trains are bullet shaped.

seeing as the engeneer kicked from side to side, insted of "pushing off" and the head away. I doubt that was his intention.

Jesus Christ! So what if he kicked him just for the hell of it? I would have kicked him too! Wtf is he doing so close to the tracks, filming with a train approaching? He learned his lesson! Don't fucking mess with trains, they'll kill you! Or the conductor will kick you...
