I had the opportunity to go to the last day of the 2006 Johnnie Walker Championship held at Gleneagles (Perth & Kinross) and gladly snapped it up. Fearing that the Scottish weather would turn nasty, I didn't think i'd get many (if any) decent photos; but as rare as they are, the weather was pretty awesome.

Scotland is probably one of the most gorgeous countries i've ever been to, particularly in such prestigious locations like Gleneagles. If you have the means and want to escape, I highly recommend it.

I took a load of photos, but here are some of the better ones that capture some of the surroundings. We followed Colin Montgomerie and Paul Casey most of the day; Monty was trailing by a couple of shots and couldn't get it back by the 18th, allowing Casey to scoop first place.

I want to live there.

Photos are 1280*960, sizes are under 1 meg but not by much - I wanted to retain as much quality as poss.

Edit: I forgot to mention that cameras weren't allowed, so a lot of shots were taken covertly and I could only get so close. Camera was at maximum zoom for most shots.

Stayed at Gleneagles once, was very nice (a particularly fine selection of single malts in the bar ). All the other Directors I was with played the course, but as I think golf is the most evil sport ever invented (I'm wrong of course, we all know its cricket), I went shooting instead.
