before whining at GOA etc you might wanna trace your route to the servers? for example ppl from hungary (hello AoD!) get routed hungary -> new york -> france ... no wonder these guys get a massive problem sometimes but nothing GOA can do about really ...
having a phat PC and a phat line doesn't help you at all if your route to the server is f00ked :touch:

Come play Mid/pryd toa zones if you dont experience lag there, please tell us what drugs you are on. And its not our connections, i play find on excal no problem what so ever, mid/pryd i crash, got 5-40 sec delay on actions etc.

Read the thread.. It`s mid/pryd thats affected, no where else. The lag is so bad mobs pop infront of you, you cant style, forget about reactionaries, and casters/healers cant do shit.

Well looking around the internet most people seem convinced that :-

a). Mandarin.
b). English
c). Hindustani.
d). Spanish.

In that order.

Mandarin is just a common dialect... most regions have their own language. So it's not the most spoken, just the most understood. The same for Hindi, there're a few different languages spoken in India, but Hindi is the national language and known to most people. So if you're going to take estimates on how many people can 'understand' it - as a second or third language, then English is the most popular.

You can't say a country has a population of xxxxxx and all of those speak the national language

So far for me its been at best 3 seconds, at worst 18 seconds to enter combat mode.

Something is seriously fucked up with there network, there main server is fine as me and most people ping it really well, but there subnetwork and routing is totaly buggered, i`d hazard to guess that the routing/network connection connecting the main server to the sub server (mid/ToA) in this case is suffering from major packetloss or choke which is whats causing the obscene lag for us and possibly other problems for alb/hib as well if there on the same subserver.

I didnt, I said these are the most widely spoken languages in teh world according to statistics widely available on the net. Twice the number of people in the world speak mandarin compared to English.

Thats because we only start to learn a second language in secondary school, where as many other countrys start learning in primary which makes everything so much easier (correct me if im wrong )

Always seemed to me that theres no point learning a second language if you live in the UK. Unless you intend to work abroad then theres very little point, you dont see or hear french/german/spanish etc on a day to day basis in the UK unless your work specificaly needs it. We are also arrogant enough to expect that other people will learn our language, you can survive very easily on the continent cause people will speak english a bit, a frenchman or german that came to england and didnt speak english would have a much harder time!

Partly this is due to us being on an Island. The only time I have ever needed any french is when im trying to negotiate for cheap fags n booze on a day drip to France. I learnt some german cause it was supposed to be good for reading some technical/scientific papers written in german, but ive never needed it.

afaik thats an auto-response.. basically there Rightnow team is a program running on a 386 which replies with exactly the same message.. Must be an uber program though as it sometimes makes spelling mistakes and grammer errors ;p

On the subject of language, i happen to finish my secondry school in 1992, and the compulsory second language wasnt introduced until 1994, when my school became grant maintained. I was taught the bare basics of French and Spanish, have lived in london all my life, and frankly if i was to now decide to take up a second language, it would be either an eastern (mandarin/indian/thai) language, or Hindustani, as any would be more useful to me living and working in London today...

the problem with british schools is you arnt taught a language you are taught how too survive for a week in a foreign country. IE not how too comunicate with other human beings from a different language your told how too buy stuff and how too add up to 1 milion.

anywho im a hibby pryd player not seen any lag or lag ghosts or link dead. although some people have been having it bad the chances are its down too your local ISP link too GOA. remember there was some post a while back regarding the internet backbone for goa was having maintenance being done on it . THey probbaly forgot too plug the string back in or the plastic cups gotten a bit battered.

Either way i enjoy toa it makes the game more of what the game should be exploring killing huge mobs meeting peeps grouping with others, and enjoying yourself.

Everyone who says leveling artifacts or master level raids is boring is missing the point the idea is your meant too spend more than 2 weeks on the expansion its meant too be done over several months.

If your rushing your artifacts too lvl 10 as fast as you can then your just in it for the rvr. im in it for the pve otherwise i would have rolled a class better for rvr than an animist
