Well, I'm not really sure I like spam, it has a nasty aftertaste, but tastes great along with sausage, spam, egg, beans, spam, bacon, spam, spam, and spam :D

Q
It's a thread about spam, not a spam thread you fool.

Quorthon isn't a fool m_j.
I'm sure 'a spam thread' means a thread with the potential of attracting spammage. Q is quite correct when he states that a thread with a title denying spam has a disproportionally large potential for attracting spam.
I'm sure you agree.

Well, I think this is where our definitions of a spam thread differ actually. I say that a thread is not a spam thread until it becomes overloaded with spammage.
And it's basic psychology, anyway. Forbidding someone to do something is the best way of getting them to do it.

H'oh yes... spammage. Tell me not to do it and I'll do it. Tell me to do it and I'll oblige, just like I would if a 16 year old schoolgirl asked me to come and . . . . . . ....

It's true that telling someone not to do something will excite their curiosity; it's also true that telling someone to do something won't stop them doing it if they really want to; they just won't feel so sneaky, and therefore feel less accomplishment, about doing it. If you are doing something that you've been told no to do you feel a sense of accomplishment as well as guilt.
