The amusing thing about this is that anyone who buys the proggy from Ebay is gonna get shafted twice.

1. They will get financially screwed

2. They can't sue under Trade Descriptions

There was a big issue about this on VN. The cheat program is called 'Idon'twanttopostonFHanylonger'*** (sp). It was completely undetectable and its use was widespread in US and Europe judging from the download demographics published.

It presented the cheat with a scrolling map of the zone with all players marked. It also listed all creatures in the zone (mobs, NPCs and players) and their current health. By selecting a player it would give you name, realm, realm rank and position relative to you. Apparently you also got a flashing red message when stealther was near.

The problem for the twats who used this is that 1.68 screwed it by changing the encryption algorithms.

Bad news for the idiots who buy from Ebay is that they are buying a ripped off version that doesn't work anymore. Poetic justice

Bad news for the DaoC community is that the developers are hard at work on the version that will run with current encryption

I know that alot of users are not too conversant with search engines but it doesn't take 10 secs to find the proggy if you wanted to.

The main thing now is that it doesn't work. It is history. If the VN board was correct the new proggy is same developers but diff name and diff company.

Nope. Bad news for them is that it's open source and completely free to download and use.

I believe it took just a month for the dev to code a workaround for the new encryption and there's been a pre-release version of the util available with this since Apr/May.

The main thing now is that it doesn't work. It is history. If the VN board was correct the new proggy is same developers but diff name and diff company.

Actually, the devs did 2 things:

1) re-worked the original app to work with the new encryption and (pre-) released v2.0 of the radar app (pretty much as soon as 1.68 was released);
2) created a new radar project which uses a server, sharing radar information between multiple clients to a much larger area is covered by the radar (and various other tools).

ok looking back i should not of posted the link.
but my thinking ( at the time ) was that the more people that know about it then the more chance of a ADmin Seeing it.

i also emailed a link off to Mythic just saying that i h8 cheating and wondering they could have a look at the program and get it to stop working.
