How old is the actual pictures on it?

For instance, my current home has had some changes done to it [A year+ ago] but the changes arent present from what i can see...

Also i noticed that my works carpark is extremely different to how it is now - Ive been there 2 years, as well as my old house had some demolition stuff done across the road - but it still shows the old stuff...

Is there anyway to update it? Or is it periodic updates?

the pictures vary, depending where you are they can be years old (5+ I hear) or days old - depending when you catch theupdates. You cant update it yourself sadly, unless you feel like launching a satellite and selling the pictures to google - who will pay you $stupidmoney for them :)

Where I live was refurbished early last year and it's pre-refurb on Google Earth. It's kind of embarrassing when people do the whole "omg I can see my house from here!" thing because mine looks like what it was at the time the picture was taken... derelict. :(
