The last part imo, there isint any end game like DAoC so u dont need to hurry... That said, if you have had the urge to have it all once, you will have it again... :)

Depends what you want from the game, if you want fun there's plenty to be had in WoW. If you want 'to be the best' then I'd say that's something totally different and has more to do with yourself than any game you might be playing :p

It's a personal thing, if you can live with lvling very slow and enjoy the quest plots then no, then you can just logg on from time to time and get a few quests done and live happily ever after. If you however cant do that but let the game take over...it will kill youre social life as much as Daoc did no doubt. Imo its just a matter of time before specific items for each class different builds start to be a must or you are a gimp....meaning you will have to invest time after 60 to get THE setup.

Certainly is. Of course you wont always keep up with those levelling 24/7, but ho-hum.
Got absolutely bladdered in the local last night wihout a second thought for WoW - and tonight I'll be playing WoW whilst getting bladdered at home ;)

These things can coexist when tied together with booze imo

Im having tuns of fun just going through the quests and seeing little stories develop, i play between 1-4 hours a day and that will probably drop over the course of time. i am lvl 13 priest at the mo but i dont really care about lvl at the moments apart from what spells i can get.

Its a fantastic game, so much better than other MMORPG's where you spend hours and hours fighting the same creatures with no real purpose but to increase XP.

ze solo drinking is cause for concern... :) imo atleast, ive only done it once and i didnt enjoy it and thus wont get drunk on my own ever again altho i do enjoy a drink when alone (i do actually like the taste so i dont drink to get drunk and so dont get drunk alone) if that makes sence spank urself happy :D.

wow can co-exist with ur social life, altho i ahve eben getting urges to go home in my afternoons off at school instead of mess about with my mates, however in wow those urges are still there (planned to come home at 11 this mroning as i had no lessons after that but instead i stayed for 1 free and played dodgeball and had fun, then i decided to stay for my 4th free coz my mate needed some1 to spot him coz he's a weak fuck, then i stayed for my last free and messed about and then i had a scenic walk home witht his hot girl and just had a chilled day - all instead of playing a stupid computer game).

i guess waht im trying to say is just b sensible, a game will never replace the fun u can have with ur mates, make concious decisions and attempts to have a good time, and play wow to fill in the time. thats my plan anyway :).

Well said Darksword, except that i dont think games are stupid ;)

This game, like any game, will take over your life if you cant stand beeing less than amongst the "elite" players of your server. If you like to play just for the immediate fun of playing then no it doesnt have to ruin anything :)

Was only a bit internal joke as Kari and me used to run healer and druid on Cam in fg's, and it happened more then 1 time that it worked better late a saturday night after le pub then when totally sober ;)

Off course game and social life can exist same time, its allways a matter of priorities. Looking at sweden people are either

1."omg im so freaking cool I run at le (ze french!!) gym every day and after that I drink coffe for 5 hours with my friends, and then I do this and that and then I go for trips and omg im sooooooo hipp"
2. I go home...turn on le tv and watch ...BB/Pornographic Hotel/Fame/Idol....and so on
3. I go home, I put on WoW/daoc and I turn the outside off for the night...
4. I drink le boooooooze few nights a day.
Or a big lovely combo, I gather combo points from 4 and then use em on my nr 3 style that kill all....

Solo drinking is only a cause for concern if you let it become one. Much like the way that WoW will overtake your social life if you let it.

The world is not black & white, there are gradations & degradations for all.

well some ppl tend to play this game (and daoc also) to be respected, to be the best... well that wouldnt be a problem at all, most of us play the game to have fun and ofc to beat the enemy in the end game aka be better. Problem starts when ppl sacrifice time - family - gurl (boyzie)- work - anything which would be alot more important then a game for this goal. If you cant controll yourself, just dont play any kind of mmorpg :_O
