I organised a LANParty last weekend just after the Multiplayer Demo was released!! We played this game for about 6 hours and I have never played a game that was soo wicked. They do have some bugs to work out.

I am about to preorder this game - If I had to say what type of game it was I would say its Tribes 2 cross RtCW.

If they fix the bugs and the poor net code then this game will indeed "r0x0r".
Right now its driving me mad. Such potential, but so many problems.

Yap - But this is EA and we've had far too many problems with them in the past. But I guess everyone gets a second chance.

That, and the fact that the ingame browser is shit and that Gamespy Arcade is even worse. No ASE support either :p The weapons suck as well.

No ASE support does suck but the ASE users are posting a petition on the EA site. It worked to get the master server for Americas Army for ASE lets hope it works for BF1942.

Lets hope they have finished the game now and are just bug finding from the release of the demo.

This game does indeed rock, apart from having to use ingame or gayspy arcade.

Other than that i don't see any problems, it seems that on some servers the netcode is bad but on the official EA servers it dosn't..........who knows, maybe they are setting theres up different.

But anyhow it rocks

The game rocks, but unfortunately the people who play it do not, it may take time to iron out the lamers and idiots.

I'd admit I've run over a few people too often, and it was a while before I found out the key to lower the land craft ramp, but after a couple of nights I'm starting to really get into it.

Get on a good server and games last for ages.

This game does not rock.

As Ted said, the netcode is utter tripe and renders most online games unplayable. I suspect its brilliant on a LAN.

Visually it looks like Medal of Honor graphics on the Operation Flashpoint engine which is certainly no bad thing. I'd be interested to see what other maps are like.

Gameplay wise this hasn't grabbed me. I'll wait for ASE support and patches to improve netcode then I may buy it.

I had a 20 player lan last saturday just in time to download the demo. We had a schedule set out and everything but this game just wiped it out :D

Was very good fun... but all the servers are full :D

Yes it does rock

This is one of the most fun games ive ever played online, the addition of vehicles and physics into an FPS makes an amazing difference to a game.

Its not perfect though, the infantry weapons are largely to weak/innaccurate(although assault guys are about right), i do think there is a collision bug though, where it seems impossible to hit sometimes with the rifles and SMG's. In one case, i found that if i shoot at a tree my bullet passes thru, if i fire to one side it hits an invisble tree as if the collision is offset slightly(perhaps its the same with the players). Also i think the rocket laucher should be slightly more powerfull against tanks. The vehicle weapons however are spot on.

ASE support is being added in the next patch.

yeah, but ill bet they are working day and night to get it done, from my experiences with EA they will be. Not easy programming when youve had virtually no sleep.

i know this has been posted somewhere but I cant find it...
whenever I try to run the game I get a black screen briefly and it crashes back to the desktop

I have a GF4 ti and I heard they cause probs but I dunno.

Can someone please help meh.

I am desperate to get some plane madness on the go.

I think it has something to do with the nVidia refresh rate fix [correct me if i'm wrong]. You either need to remove the refresh rate fit or find the drivers that work with it. I think someone else had the same problem on this forums somewhere.

heh this game is good! finally stopped playing around with the planes (well.. crashing + dying anyway), playin it more considering most of the CS Servers are now mostly empty

really hate the public servers where TK is a big problem when u go for a plane... Tis 10000 x better on the BW servers, mid u FF is off :D

This game could do with admins , but as its only a demo i dont think we need them on servers just yet . But an admin to kick those bastards who blew up my plane just because i got there first would keep my happy, wankers :mad:

rofl :D ive not come across that sort of behaviour *yet* but some people (ie Scoob) dont want noobs flying planes and smashing them instantly heh which i agree with (Now i can get the planes in the Air :p)

I shot down my first plane today , was very fun dogfight , although by the end of it i loop de looped into the sea :p

I cant do Dogfights, because i use my "Up / Down" to move up and down, and my "/ and ." for Taking off / Nose Dive.

So its a pain in the arse to keep the plane safe while i am firing at a plane.. i think i should make Fire a Keyboard Button, and not Mouse1, that may make it a *bit* better
