Tis one of the problems with cluster. It used to be if a realm was suffering in RvR they'd go PvE or play on the other server, now you get the same thing just the ones playing on the other server happen to be making the odds even worse for the suffering realm.

Probably the reason why realms suffer when in this type of rvr.

Because he hates role players and plays for fun, guess his perfectly fine swtiching realms as for people like him, thats probably the easier option. Easier option usually means for fun.

oh no mate your realm is suffering! yep, i have friends in all realms and i play where i get a group. irvr has nothing to do with which realm i play just fyi and if you really think someone bothers changing realms depending which one is easier to play for the night, well that's just quite stupid or well personally i cant see why anyone would care so much.

So your saying just say you had a 50 alt on alb and a 50 on mid.
You tried playing mid for a couple nights, but got tired of the zerging, and constant rebuffing and dying. It seems hopeless.

People then think o well, being a mid is bollocks at the mo, lets just go mess around on my alb alt till things change.

And thats the exact same thing for relics, as soon as a realm loses it's relics the population suffers.

People don't want to fight people with 10% bonuses, so they chose the easy option and roll chars on the opposite realm. I don't do it personnaly, but alot of people do.

Every single time a realm loses it's relics you can see a dramatique change in the population. And the same applies for long term irvr. People get bored of feeling like the underdog and go play something else.

The loyalty to the realms has gone, don't get me wrong there is still a handful of players that will read this and agree,but the sad state in which it stands at the mo won't be too many I don't pay your subs, play as you may, but to fight for that empty feeling means nothing.

like i said i dont even login to the game unless im soloing/duoing with my ranger, or some special occasions someone asks me to login OR theres a group planned beforehand, "realm status" has fuck all to do with it

agreed. there's always groups joining the underdog-realms to get the most out of their fighting, and jump around as the action does, or wanting to try a new groupsetup. this really doesn't effect the siegebattles much tho, because generally, these people tend to give crapall about realm and sieging. atleast from my experience.

If hibs get 6 relics then everyone goes to play hib, no-one likes fighting people with 6 relics..
Now once everyone's gone to hib who is there left to fight.. erm no-one.

It's also never going to change, as hib now have twice the numbers of any other realm.

You only log on for fun sure, but that's not going to happen with everyone in the same realm!

When I played on US servers I often was quilty of band-wagoning, but in the entirely opposite direction.

It's no victory to win when you have a 10-20% advantage over your enemies, nor does it give any cred among the community

Also, playing on the most numerous side always sucks, without exception. I'd rather have to dodge enemies 4-1 than having to compete with groups from my own realm over the few spoils that are to be found.

So band-wagoning occurs for sure (yet still has nothing to do with x-realming, which is something entirely different), but a lot of people jump ships in the entirely opposite direction than you might expect

And yes, been doing the same for quite some time, the point of the game to me anyway, is to get a challenge out of it. There's no challenge available having to run a marathon w/ your realmmates over who can reach the fight first, because in the end.. you can't kill your realmmates.
