Whats peoples thoughts on it? Past few weeks ive been reading and listening to it about how shit the pitch looks and it looks just as bad as when Evertons was like this last season (When the mancs got the turfing and we had to wait a bit longer)...

A team of Chelsea's financial credability shouldnt have allowed the pitch to get into such a state... What is going to happen after the Barca is probably the pitch is fixed up pronto.

I respect Chelsea and all that, we have always kept good ties in with Chelsea/Everton but i think they are playing some dirty tricks to try and win this match.

Chelsea's performance has struggled as well, even in the FA Cup they seemed to be struggling recently - on their own pitch as well... Results havent gone their way and they havent won "convincingly" in quite a while...

I can see them getting beat in this match, and it probably wont be all that entertaining - *shock*

I am with you Gray, they declined renewing the turf during the 2 week break and opted for reseeding instead. This will provide a better pitch long term rather than a full pitch replacement which is only short term.

As Joe Cole said Ronaldinho grew up playing on a beach its hardly going to affect him play :)

I can see Barcelona winning tonight because they are just awesome, watched them last week against Betis who beat Chelsea in the group stages and they demolished them.

Mourinho is starting to annoy me aswell, hes a mint coach but hes always complaining about everything. He was talking about how many penalties they have had this and last season compared to Barcelona. You cant even compare them.

i didn't know anything about this until someone mentioned it to me at football last week but having seen the state of it against colchester, it's incredible. for a large and modern stadium, the pitch is fairly well ventilated and open to the elements so there's absolutely no way the pitch would end up in that state unless it's been neglected.

i've seen better playing surfaces in the screwfix direct premier...

The pitch isn't that open, the hotel and high stands mean that the pitch doesn't actually get much sun.
I wonder if they will let it get as bad as a few seasons ago when they had to add sand, and when they played Charlton it was like a beach. Charlton almost asked for a rematch on a proper pitch! :)
For a team with their money though, I have to say it's a bit unacceptable for champions league football, although I bet it made Colchester feel at home :)

I don't think Barce need to worry about the pitch anyway.

They are going to batter Chelsea over 2 legs, and can't wait to see Maureen coming out with his usual BS excuses.
