Zanaa you're very right m8.
I still have fun, still have places to explore, still not seen the Dragon.
I admit XP is a very boring aspect in the game, that's why I take some "days off" with XP, where I go on exploration in different places or RvR instead. Then I take a day or two with a little more XP hunting, doing quests, help guildies on epics, etc.
My m8s ingame is the most important thing for playing, they're all so nice and funny to play with. Good company keep the boredom away.

The problem here is that way too many people are making questionable generalisations about the people who are bored... "they are powerlevellers/the gimme generation" etc.

Sure, there are certainly many, many people like that in Midgard. Their DAOC experience is limited to exping and I've seen some continue to do so even at lvl 50 because that's the only environment they're comfortable in. There are also people, like ches says, who quit after they level to 50, and both situations ARE indeed perverse.

However, this doesn't change the point that, IMHO and in my experience, PvE is pretty terrible and RvR is also lacking depth and dynamism, and that these are valid sentiments for some players.

edit: I know that 'community' or friendship has been mentioned as another reason for playing the game. Yeah, I've made some good friends in the game, but how many people here want to pay money every month for online friends? It should really be about shared experience, but IMO there's little 'experience' to share in the game... Oh, and the Midgard community = laughable and uke:

i played UO 2 years EQ 2 years us Daoc 4 months
here simple nothing to play for me left except euro DAoC...
Sure thing this GOA is really pain - half of your problem is b/c of GOA actually. if we had at least 1,49 here on euro - nobody would complain about boring daoc .:sleeping:

Aye, by the time GOA patch to 1.49 I could be lvl 45+ in the US (probably)...so I might just go do that.
